employee leo came over on an alert because i moved the creamer out of thr paper-sack to free standing on paid scale in self check out. leo safeway's employee & aggressive theft investigator then roughly went through the entire bag about 7 items to make sure they were rung up. and they were! seemed sorta intense but i kept scanning. then leo, at self check out , grabbed my cart, cashed my 120.00 order out and said he was re-ringing everything up. i was surprised as every single item i had bagged was rang up. every single thing! he insisted that i had a unrang pineapple and was very loud, embarrassing in front of numerous people. i cannot even put into words how horrible, degraded and targeted i felt. my friend also checking out said i work for safeway (because she does!) and my friend (me) would not steal anything. leo said well we will see... i ended up just walking out in tears because of the scene. listen safeway, your a big corporate monster, we all get it. but seriously i will make sure i never shop at your store. i will make sure my family & children dont shop at your store. and hey hopefully over the top, shoplifting detective leo gets to keep on harassing and degrading your customers while you sit there and do nothing... i mean really you have a real gem in that employee. and if his job at safeway doesn't work out, he can always see if there's a slot open in the nazi party for him to abuse people....because your business model eventually's going to bite you in the ass and i can't wait to watch you close down. either way though - the customer sensitivity and training program that you put leo through was a really epic job. what a complete piece of trash you have working for you.

I’d like to thank Jimmie in the deli. He turned what was going to be a disastrous situation into an overall good experience. He and his team on Saturday morning made sure I was taken care for a catering order that slipped thru the cracks. Appreciate all the hard work.

I received excellent customer service from three employees at this store on the day before Thanksgiving. My first encounter was with Dylan in the produce department. Dylan was actively engaging customers as he unloaded his produce cart, asking what we were looking for and directing us to our items. This made shopping the department much easier, especially with so many items to find. When I stepped to the meat department I encountered Derek B., seafood manager, who greeted me immediately with a smile and friendly banter. At the self checkout register, Billie U. had to assist me and others several times. Billie juggled all of her duties and quickly solved issues with minimal waiting. Shopping on the day before a holiday can sometimes be a hassle, but this store was well stocked and staffed with wonderful employees like Dylan, Derek B. and Billie to make the experience smooth and enjoyable.

My mother was in the store on 10-9-23. She was at self checkout.As she was scanning the machine stopped working, she call the person on staff over wondering what happened. The girl stated the machine detected (unusual movements ). Seriously, what evenis that? And proceded to treat mymother as if she stole something.My mother is an 80 year old woman . She purchased tissues , bananas, coffee. This was totally unacceptable.She has never been accused of stealing .This upset her greatly. Please take the time to train your staff on not playing judge and jury with your customers. A letter to Albertsons Corp office will follow this complain. Thanks for nothing.

This Safeway is quite large and seems to be clean and well-maintained with products organized on shelves. They've got a large parking lot just off the highway. There is a Starbucks inside. Options in Sandy are somewhat limited. In general Safeway's prices are higher than others so I try to shop their discounts and use online ordering / curbside pickup.
