“Stopped in to swim laps and shoot hoops. This is a cheerful, disability-friendly and Neuro divergent-friendly space. Staff are professional, facility clean. Thanks”
“Not only did I find my dream dress and a beautiful veil to go with it, but I also found a dress for my older sister and my mom. Everyone working there including the owner was incredibly nice and uplifting. Not only did we find so many amazing dresses they were all incredibly affordable! All 4 items were under $300, my dress alone was only $49! Knowing they’re also a nonprofit for a super important cause was just the cherry on top. I believe that anyone looking for beautiful dresses would have an incredible time here; the prices, the service, it was all amazing.”
“Penny Portland says: Take time for a trip to the land of Nordic culture.
Why? Because it's right here in Portland Oregon. Creative culinary food inspired from you know where, and geeze, while you are waiting to be seated, take in the Art.”
“This is truly one of my favorite places. A sanctuary for book lovers. Reasonable prices for used books, always new selections, helping a good cause, warm and charming little setting. What more could you ask for????”
“Participated in an organized paddle of the Tualatin River with two fantastic guides—one a Tualatin Riverkeeper, the other a friend of the first. Both were engaging, welcoming, and informative. I took my three kids, ages 12-14, and each of them had a great time. Our guides made paddling very accessible and fun. We’d occasionally stop along the river to learn about the river cleanup, wildlife, and history. We saw several ducks, some fish, and even a blue heron up close. This association and the river is such a treasure. Highly recommend. I’d love to paddle more with them.”
“One of the best local places for buying used, clean furniture, vintage, art and other household goods. Very friendly and helpful staff some of whom are local volunteers. They also accept donations of many kinds. Worth stopping by frequently.”
“Really nice people here. I brought an old tattered flag to them for proper disposal. I was greeted warmly and the dining hall and bar were really nicely done. Thanks American Legion Post 104!”
“As a grandma, going to pick up breast milk for a Premi who was getting ready to be brought home from the hospital. It was the best experience I could have ever had. The place was easy to find, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Even to the point of calling the hospital to verify the prescription that was sent over to them because they had not received it yet. They sat and talked with me and got to know me and we're very helpful in every way. I highly recommend this place to any new mother who is in need of breast milk for their little bundle of joy.”
“It's a good store for most people looking for used things or projects. I would say the prices are a little much for items at some times. Still would go here again.”
“We pretty much only use the pool here, both for open play swim and swimming lessons for the kids. Never had any issues. The slide is almost always open during open swim. Shout out to the lifeguards who scan the water non-stop like robots. I even came in at 4:05pm recently and open swim had just started 5 minutes before. Not a single soul was in the pool, yet all three lifeguards were scanning the water anyway. I chuckled out loud at the sight, but honestly, it's a good sign that they take their jobs seriously and stay on task.”
“This is a great place to live for all veterans and their families. They assign you a room and social worker. This is not shelter, it's more like temporary housing for veterans and their families. This place has rules, classes and two square meals. If you can follow these simple rules, you can change your life for the positive. With being around with fellow veterans, helps with counseling, socializing, and getting things done in life and in Oregon.”
“Whether beginning a new life path or wanting to increase your knowledge of a purposeful life, this Center is absolutely a fantastic vehicle to accomplish either goal.”
“I took the Food Handlers course. It was easy to navigate and the test went very smoothly. And the best part...I entered a contest to win a stay st the Historic Hood River Hotel AND WON!!! Thanks ORLA!!! See you in 2 years when my food handlers card expires!!!”
“Awesome place for a venue. Thank you so much to Michelle for letting us rent the place. Our appreciation to Ron, Ralph, Chris and Anna, our churches function was all possible with this place. I can't say enough about the place a the people that made it possible.”
“A worker there named Craig is an amazing human. I support someone with disabilities who struggles sometimes going out in the community. When we visit UGM thrift store Craig greets us by name and makes our experience meaningful. Highly recommend the kitchen supplies section of the store. Also huge selection of jeans styles and sizes. I’ve found Hudson Jean and Prana.”
“Really friendly people. Not judgmental. A little tight at dinner time, but they seem to be doing there best with the space available. And the food they serve is good. Thank you guys.”
“Great group of women whom support those and advocate for women going through cancer. I really wanted to be apart, but unfortunately they are not very inclusive to working parents or people whom work weekends.
Was really disappointed because my Grandparents gave a lot of time in previous years, and I was hoping to connect with others in my situation. Most activities were not open to children nor on days other than Sundays generally. It felt too much like a clique and I clearly didn't fit it, even with Cancer.”
“It’s like a precious gem in the middle of Lake Oswego! This used book store is similar to Powells except all the books are reasonably priced, it’s super clean, tons of genres to choose from. The staff is extra friendly and helpful. I love this store!”
“My heartfelt thanks to community action for the great job that they are doing to help and support families and individuals who are in housing and rental assistance needs. Life is up and down, challenging happens in life regardless of how strong you are. Community actions has rescued me and my newborn baby from eviction and rental history problems. Thank you so much for being there to help and support when people need you the most. Many blessings to you and everyone who donated to support people. I was falling down, you hold my arms and stand me up, hopefully I won't fall down again, instead, I will be a good donor to support others. I give you a 5 stars because that is a maximum of stars, otherwise I could give you a trillions of stars. You are in my prayers. Be blessed.”
“Thank God for every food bank in America! This one is pretty darn good! It's kind of small but it has everything in it. It is one of the ones where it's supposed to feel like you're shopping, although I was pretty closely supervised. Not sure if this was due to their need to watch their clients or their wanting to help me get through it easier due to my not being able to walk. Either way, I just want to thank them very, very much!”

“We adopted a dog from Pooch and he came so well trained, fully potty trained, and has just been the absolute best dog ever. We can't imagine our lives without him!”
“Effective and comprehensive community resource. A unifying force addressing many needs co ordinating with others and providing a variety of volunteer opportunities (clothes closet, food bank, maintenance, cleaning, kitchen, etc.).”
“Very frustrating trying to get help to pay for camp. The camp Director does not answer the phone or return messages. The office people do not give any help and hung up on me.”
“? Leah was awesome! I found really good prices on fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as some proteins, so I brought a cart of food and water. I was happy to be able to donate outside of the holiday season. ❤️”
“I needed to take a moment today and express my sincere gratitude to the Cat Adoption Team. We have been looking for the right kitty for a little while now. We were so happy when we heard about Kitten Palooza and immediately got involved in hopes of getting to adopt. It was just a little hard to find the online application, for adoption, but once we were directed to it, it was quick and simple to fill out. We were approved and made our appointment. I went in knowing what I wanted, and the staff was so nice to ask me questions and help direct us towards potential kitties. The first day, we didn’t find our special kitty. However, i was very impressed by the operation of the event. Although it was fast paced in many ways, there was plenty of staff to help.
The next day we tried again. I had a little sad episode during the 2nd visit. I lost my beloved kitty, that i had had for 18 yrs, last November. It has been incredibly hard after losing her, and, on our second visit, it just hit me that i finally had to accept my dear kitty was gone, and now I’m preparing to start a new journey. I began crying.. me, a grown woman, crying and feeling stupid for doing so. Yet, the staff was SO kind and SO supportive while i was sad. They were incredibly compassionate and very kind! I can’t put in words how much i appreciate how kind they were with me. Truly, the staff here are such loving, wonderful people! I had to call it quits on the second day, but we tried again the 3rd day. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful on the 3rd visit. Then, we came upon the perfect kitty, looking back at us with her beautiful blue eyes. This was the one..
The adoption process was very easy and i really liked that there was a process to help you learn about what your kitty will need, and how to introduce it to your life and home. I am a very experienced cat owner, but still, the tips were very helpful! Again, all of the staff were absolutely amazing during our adoption process. They were happy and excited for us and our new precious little one!
This was an emotional experience for me, that was made so much easier thanks to the sincere kindness of this team.
I am so thankful to the Cat Adoption Team and i HIGHLY recommend them! Thank you so, SO much to all of these amazing people, that helped bring our wonderful kitten into our lives! I am so grateful, not only for my new baby, but for all they do to help kitties! Such a wonderful organization, run be the most wonderful people!”
