Safeway in Saint Helens, Oregon, is a small but welcoming neighborhood grocery store that offers a variety of products and services. Despite its limited size and narrow aisles, the store provides a good selection of fresh produce, organic items, and specialty products like cheeses and homemade breads. Customers appreciate that Safeway often has better produce than larger competitors like Fred Meyer and offers a decent selection of deals and prices, especially when using a club card or digital coupons. The store features a bakery with customizable cakes and cupcakes, a deli with party trays and made-to-order options, and a floral department with exclusive design products. An in-store Starbucks adds to the convenience. The staff is frequently praised for being friendly, helpful, and cheerful, especially during busy times or holidays like Christmas Eve. Employees often go out of their way to assist customers, such as helping with carts or carrying out catering orders. The store’s environment is generally clean and well-stocked, though some reviews mention that the older location has narrow aisles and inconsistent customer interactions. Safeway’s pick-up and delivery options are available but have mixed reviews; pickup service is reliable, while delivery sometimes involves confusing substitutions. Overall, customers find Safeway a good place for groceries in a small-town setting, valuing the friendly staff, clean environment, and quality products, making it a preferred choice for many locals.
Store almost always has what I'm looking for. Handicap access ramp and parking spots have been recently updated. Store is always clean but I wish they would have more tellers. Standing 5 people back when the store is slow is ridiculous

This store was very helpful trying to find stuff and the employees were very helpful. I just wish this store was bigger. We need a bigger store.

Service is excellent, the people are nice, the fresh food is always fresh. The store is clean and well organized, and they are surprised when you're there to pick up your own food ?
