“We took are car to a local shop thinking we could not afford the dealership we paid that shop 400 to diagnose are car they said it needed a computer and to take to the dealership so we did that shop was wrong and ron tonkin found the problem and fixed it we will not take are cars any other place you really get what you pay for and the dealership treated us well even after I argued with them about the other shop saying it was the computer .Anyway I will from now on only go to them as it is so hard to find real mechanics who know what they are doing thank you tonkin for the work and standing behind it”

“Living in The Dalles it's hard to decide which company you're going to trust with tires since we have two huge companies at both ends of town. But after years of living here and using both companies Gill's Point S is clearly the best option. The other tire company in The Dalles where I used to go was always telling me that I needed new tires, or I needed to upgrade something. I feel like Gill's Point S in The Dalles gives a much more honest diagnostic on what needs to be done right away and what can be done in the future.
And if you're going to have to sit around waiting for your car to be ready. I think gill's s point in The Dalles has the best lobby and outdoor waiting area in the business.
While I was waiting for my car, I met a woman who had been stung by wasps. Both get hands were swollen. I hope she's okay.”
“I got a quote from another shop in town, they were more than twice as much. I took my truck to Devin’s and got new brake rotors and pads and all four ball joints and arms done the next day. Thank you guys so much! My truck is driving like new and you saved me so much money. Very nice crew.”

“They did a really nice job with our 66 Mustang Convertible Restomod restoration! Came out just as I had envisioned! Only beef I have is not with them but their upholsterer of choice at the time named Gary Saylor. He can do good work but needs some discipline and is not reliable. The CARS crew are all very nice and treat you like part of the family. Great job all!!!”
“We found the car we wanted on-line at Ron Tonkin Subaru in the Gorge. We live in Portland, about an hour and a half away. We negotiated via text. The dealership was very responsive and reasonable. We drove out and bought our car with the assistance of Jorge. He had our car in the showroom, so we could comfortably look it over. We did a test drive and got further helpful info from Jorge. The car was exactly what we wanted. The team including Jorge, Chris, Shasta and Nema were extremely helpful and transparent.

“On August 27, 2026, while travelling from Washington to California with my wife and our two dogs the thing you fear the most on a long road trip, a warning light goes on in the car about a engine/battery issue. After some quick diagnostic support from the local Auto Zone we knew it was the alternator. After a few tries to find someone who would be able to fix our problem, we were lucky enough to get Emtech to help us. They were amazing and so helpful. The fact that we were dropping in out of the blue with no appointment, in crisis with no warning, and yet they not only agreed to help but got it done in a timely manner. As an added bonus they did it all for a reasonable cost allowing us to get back on the road to California. I cannot say enough positive things about Emtech!!”

We went here with what we thought was an issue with our TPMS thinking we would spend $50 on the TPMS plus $30-40 for labor.
Instead they replaced the leaking valve stem for FREE!! I would definitely recommend this business.”

“These guys saw my car on no notice after suffering a stall while on a work trip far from home. They were the 4th or 5th mechanic I called and the only one to be able to look at the car. Not only did they look at it, they found the sensor I needed in town and had it swapped out and my car back on the road in just an hour or two. Thought for sure I'd end up having to leave the car there and come all the way back out but these guys got me moving in no time and at a super fair price. Highly recommended!”
