“Randy is an expert, professional fixer, with a decided artistic talent. He repaired a 60 year old chair with what looked like the original cane in the perfect stained finish. My dining room set is, again, complete. I recommend Randy, without reservation, for all your cane repair projects!”

“This store has a beautiful collection of well-curated antiques and art, and the customer service is exceptional. After eyeing a Chinese screen while visiting the store in Portland, I decided to buy it months later, and the store director Dan could not have been more helpful in arranging shipping and ensuring that I received the piece in good condition at my home in SF. He was extremely responsive and helpful. I look forward to visiting the store again during my next trip to Portland.”

“One of our new favorite places in Portland. Like a museum where you can buy things on display. The main guy's passion is infectious. Ask him about the T-shirt on the wall above the front desk.”

“I walk past this place weekly, but it looks like someone broke 3 of their windows on 3/2/24. Transients are getting brazen out here.Show your support by checking them out. They'll need it.”

“If you are a collector, reenactor, participate in living history, or simply enjoy history, this is a great place for purchasing a wide variety of vintage military surplus items (primarily Vietnam-era & prior), as well as firearms & ammunition. This is a very interesting place to visit in terms of the shop itself, but the staff have gone as far as to set up a very detailed museum concerning the different time periods of World War 2, along with original items & equipment. Personally, I believe it's well beyond worth paying a visit to if you are passionate about history. I'd highly recommend this establishment to anyone interested in buying pieces of history and/or simply interested in looking at a menagerie of historically significant items.”

“My favorite spot to browse antiques in Portland! It feels like a hidden gem, with just the right balance of display and potential for rummaging. They are always so lovely and knowledgeable, and really went above and beyond for our furniture delivery. It’s tough for a collector to give up the dirt on a favorite spot, but I really want this family business to thrive. Long live R. Spencer Antiques!”

“I remember Shogun's Gallery on NW 23rd. They relocated to a warehouse as the street gentrified - their old spot is a vacant lot. The original family who brought beautiful items from Japan have now largely passed the business to a younger person. I was strolling the neighborhood when a signboard announced an open day. Usually they are by appointment or voice call for entry. If you need their stuff, which you do, make an appointment or voice call for entry. They are on the 3rd floor of a clean warehouse with an elevator. They collect in Japan and ship their own containers. They have household ceramics, some tansu, some beautiful scroll landscape paintings, tools, tables, Japanese clothing, "go boards", sculptures, iron teapots, and more. Northern Japan is akin to Northwest USA and adjacent BC in climate and native culture. The native people in Japan are the Ainu and I visited their cultural center in Japan. Shogun's had on my visit collection of wood sculptures maybe 18-24" by 12" by 12" of bears catching salmon. It's in my pictures. Yes, Northern Japan has salmon! It is an Ainu native food. I have been known to haunt Japanese antique sales in Seattle. Some of the Shogun's items are very, very reasonably priced. I would recommend anyone interested in Japanese antiques, as seen by the photos, to visit by appointment and follow their announcements and other sales channels. The Northwest has a long relationship with Japan, Portland has a long and continuing relationship with Japan. If you want a little antique Japan in your living space or as a gift, Shogun's is a must-visit!”

“I was so glad to discover Gary Germer & Assoc. They gave me a spot check on a piano stool. I have never dealt with antiques and they made it so easy to check on the value of the piece.”

“Store is an amazing collection of mid century, contemporary, and Asian furniture in decor at amazing prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. Went for the first time today "just to look" and came home with a beautiful antique table. They offer a unique mix of options and appear to have new items moving through frequently. Don't forget to check out bar ware in the basement!”

“What a cute place! Came here right after we had sushi across the street and we've been looking for an over head light and found so many cute options. Unfortunately because we were out of state they didn't ship to MN and it was just trickier to think of all the logic this with shipping given we were leaving back really soon. Staff were very welcoming and the space honestly would be so cool to do a photo shoot in. It's super fun and they have very unique pieces that would make any home stand out.”

“Editing my initial rating after revisiting this large antique mall. My recent visit was wonderful. The folks who worked there were so sweet and I had such a good experience. This place is very large and the vendors clearly work incredibly hard to curate some really beautiful vintage. Give yourself time to wander. Lots of MCM/boho styles in particular. Got some lovely things and will be back next time I’m in town.”

“A true gem of a shop full of folk art, unique vintage, and contemporary artists work you can’t find elsewhere. There’s a back story for every piece that the owner selects and it’s all so thoughtfully put together. Highly recommend?”

“Spent the day with my husband today visiting vintage shops around Portland. We had the most fun visiting this super cute place!! We shared with the owner, and with another nice guy working behind the counter, that it was our 30th wedding anniversary. Talk about going above and beyond! They spent lots of time, showing us many rings, explaining details about each one. Were we rushed??? Nope! Not at all! Felt so at ease just shopping and being shown excellent customer service! The super nice guy working behind the counter ( sorry I didn’t get his name!) was awesome! He gave us several suggestions of places to go for shopping and dinner on our special day!! Very down to earth, super nice people! If you’re looking for some cool Persian rugs this is a great place to go. Great deals!”

“This is a really neat shop that’s been in Portland for many years. Elaine is an incredible craftsperson (check out her pussywillow baskets that she ships to New York designers!), she has some incredible vintage garments (kimonos!!) and other special objects, and above all i love her selection of plants. In an era when the newer small plant shops in Portland are selling at ridiculous mark-ups, the prices here are also super reasonable—I came home with quite a haul last week! Really glad places like Bella Flora still exist in my fair city.”
