Overall, a fun experience for kids—my children really enjoyed it. A couple of notes:
1. Pricing is very high. Two bears with simple outfits cost me $160.
2. The birth certificate system wasn’t working properly. Kids entered their birthday and information, but they were only given a basic certificate, and you can’t include the bear’s name on it.
The experience is simple and enjoyable for kids, but it feels like the store hasn’t invested in improving the systems or making it more engaging—likely because it doesn’t drive enough profit.

Exactly as advertised and more fun than I expected:) I'm 49 years old and my mom (72yrs) wanted to take me, my twin sister, her sister (71yrs) and childhood friend (72yrs) for a light-hearted bonding experience. Most of the theme specific clothes (i.e. Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc) r only available online which was a little disappointing but it also forced us to be creative to create our own unique outfits. The store can be overwhelming because everything is so cute and it's hard to pick the one critter or teddy bear that's going to be your buddy. However, just letting your inner-kid out and immersing yourself in the experience was fun. The staff were friendly, helpful, and didn't make us feel weird for being there. They explained each step and gave as much or as little guidance as requested. It's not a low cost excursion but it feels like u r getting a well-made unique product while creating a treasured memory. I will probably never do again for myself but would take young family members in the future:)

I just want to say how grateful I am for Michaela Hayen at Build-A-Bear Workshop! She was so kind and patient, and truly made the experience special. Michaela went above and beyond to help me through every step of building my bear, this ment everything for me because not only was this my fist time visiting a build a bear store but also because this bear is for a very special person in my life i was nervous going into the store because i didnt know what to ask or what to do but Michaela and Her warm smile and positive attitude made the visit unforgettable. Thank you, Michaela, for helping me create the perfect gift and for been so kind.

Build-A-Bear Workshop is a pretty expensive place to go shopping for a stuffed animal. Regular-sized plushies usually range from $40 to $60. The bigger ones are usually $70 to $100, not including the clothes. I will say it is a pretty cute store. There are so many different types of plushies.

I had a horrible first experience here. It was a very similar experience to the lady below me that had a bad experience with her son. I believe with the same employees because their attitudes seem the same. It was my daughter’s first birthday and had asked about a birthday special as I’ve never been there before and she just pointed at a sign and said that’s it. After that there was no customer service.

I took my son here yesterday for his first birthday and it was a really disappointing experience. We got there shortly after they opened and drove all the way from Vancouver in heavy traffic. This was something we had been really excited to do with my son to celebrate his first birthday, which as most parents know the first birthday holds a lot of significance and meaning.
Both employees on staff were less than enthusiastic to be there. I’ve never been to Build a Bear before so I wasn’t really sure how it worked. I approached the employee sitting behind the counter that appeared to be bored playing with stuffing. She looked over at me and just stared. No customer service asking how she could help me. Very awkward. I explained I didn’t know what to do and she couldn’t even be bothered to get off her butt and stand up and just pointed at the bears to pick out and said he can do the party bear. Okay I don’t know which one that is stop being lazy and get up to show me.
The other employee there was only slightly friendlier. When I went to pay she asked if it was his first birthday. Holding my son I excitedly said “yes first birthday for my baby!”. Rather than share in my enthusiasm or just even saying Happy Birthday to my son, she was just apathetic and told me the total with a bad attitude.
This is a family + kid atmosphere. It should be welcoming, happy, and enthusiastic. These employees don’t belong here if this is their attitude and they don’t represent the company well. It completely killed the experience for me and I was so disappointed. Would never return here.

Extremely time consuming and uncomfortable stuffing process. I was buying a bear for an acquaintance and did not want to waste my time with the hearts and stuff. I did not intend to spend 40 minutes at the store and missed a. Appointment because of how high pressure they were on doing the steps their way.

Kathie and her team (Sel) were amazing with us. We lost a family member and they patiently helped us record their last heartbeat into a bear for us. Very warm and welcoming environment. 10/10 would recommend.

Very poor customer service unorganized and disinterested employees. Been coming here for all my grandkids 1-15 and this was the worst experience ever. No wonder store is empty

I like the store itself, but customer services wasn't great. For me the workers didn't show any interest of helping me with questions I had on promotion they are currently running. The customer services needs to improved.
