Alto market is a neighborhood market specializing in Italian food. It has a nice selection of olive oils, pasta, canned plum tomatoes and anise oil. The store offer subs, hot meals, several options and an awesome deli and antipasto bar. Fresh baked goods, take‑home pasta and a cafe next door will be nice. Employees are very friendly and talkative and the aroma reminds you of a grandma’s kitchen. The hoagie is authentic and best hoagie place in Altoona. Customers say the variety not match Conzattis but the groceries and deli are awesome and you won’t be disappointed. Many will definitely go back for more.
We are from New York visiting family here in Altoona and this was a great Italian market with great sandwiches! NY approved! So happy we found this little gem! We got the meatball sub, an Italian combo and an Italian roast beef. The sandwiches are packed with meat and they don’t skimp on the meat! Highly recommend
