“At first, I didn't chose citizens, citizens chose me. And I say that with a well-to-do demeanor and blissfully genuine smile on my face.
I say this because I am not the first generation of my family to not only trust the financial aspects of this bank, but to trust and know the people behind the teller booth.
I know this, because before my father suddenly passed away, he was a consistent and happily suited member of citizens bank. His branch may have differed, but the experience, loyalty, affability, trust, equality, personal attention and fairness is all the same. The bank I am currently Google reviewing for is the bank that when I not only needed financial guidance the most, not only needed trustworthy help with the funds left behind as my father moved on; they were the bank that handed me tissues when I cried, cried with me. Stayed and worked with me thoroughly so that not only would I know I was in good hands, but could feel them gently wrapped around me in a warm embracing hug.
When I walk into my bank, I am welcomed by the confident and beautiful women who helped me since day one. Greeted with my name, asked about how my family is doing, asked how I am doing. And this isn't just customary customer service kindness. This is my new family, my new friends, very much caring about what is going on, how they can help.
My first day there, two of the women that helped me stayed an hour late to make sure everything was safe, secure, and I understood what was going on. I was young, walking in those doors. I was young, going through what I did. And despite how I feel at times, I am still young. Not once did my age or vulnerability give these compassionate and pure hearted employees a wink of an idea to take advantage of me or my circumstances. They empathize with me, assured me everything would be okay, and let me know they were there, no matter what.
And to this day, I look forward to going to my bank and seeing the people who helped me beyond the standard. Beyond the exception.
This bank, and the people in it, are exceptional. And I genuinely would tell any business, person, student, family; whomever.
