Hubby and I have been coming to here for YEARS - when it was split between a regular goodwill and the outlet. Now there is no outlet(bins), and just useless junk that has sky high prices on it. It's freaking ridiculous.(And they literally have food and trash on the shelf. Literal food and trash)This was already out of our way, but every so often we would drive out of the way to visit. Not anymore.Y'all definitely lost a customer. This store is gross and disgusting now.Do yourself a favor and just mark this location off your list to visit. Not worth it.

Since Goodwill discovered online auctioning it was only a matter of time until they took their business to the next level and started selling their best selling categories there. It’s all over now for us, bargain-hunting folk. This store is not any different and actually worse. The bargain buns are gone, but I never enjoyed that area anyway. Their jewelry section is completely gone (in all Goodwills actually), the clothing prices went up so much that a pilled-up Free People top will cost you $20! Dresses are $8.99-$14.99, tops $6.99 and up.The stuff on the shelves is comical in its content and pricing. Read the other reviews - it’s all true. Some items are more than retail, useless things all over those long rows of shelves priced way over what you’d expect. I saw a baggie of used sewing thread for $9.99…The only hope to finding something of interest is if THEY miss an item of value and let it get to the shelf, or if you really, really know your collectibles. Although it will have to be something from holiday decor, kitchen pots, pans, glasses and dishes, framed art, craft supplies, sports equipment, and random small metal objects like racks, trinket trays etc.

I was there on Saturday Sept 6. It was flooded with patrons with only two caishers. I felt very disappointed in the array of books scattered everywhere. I took it upon myself to straightened what I was able to do as patron. It's the librarian or teacher in me. There were books behind the shelves and it seemed to me that the employees have not carried about presentation. The books seemed as if they were plastered to the wall as artwork like a puzzle. Granted I observed only two clerk and one on the sales floor. I even took it upon to assist with cleaning up the bathroom i did ecwn have the tools to clean mind you. There needs to be a manager on weekends. It's crucial for this to transpires sales. Please please manager hire more people thank u

Last 3 things I bought from here I got burned on. don't buy anything electronic unless you know every detail about it or know 100% that it works. bin room is gone so now its just all junk. anything that has any kind of value or they think has any kind of value has a ridiculous price on it to the point where you might as well just buy it new. They also manipulate prices. there's a bike on the floor that has had the sticker and price change 4 times now because the "color of the week" would have made it cheaper. also keep in mind they get all their stuff for FREE FROM DONATIONS. I rarely give places bad reviews but this is honestly one to avoid.

Very over priced, no bins. Why would anyone want to buy used stuff when they can get it for new at the same prices? Thrift stores are supposed to be a bargain. Two stars only because the staff was lovely.

OVERPRICED greedy business.. Here are some facts based on publicly available information: Less than 1/8 of their profits actually go to their job-related 'charity,' programs that they market agressively. They don't pay their workers a fair wage. They pay disabled staff even less. They are tax exempt, recieve grants AND were forgiven millions of dollars in PPE loans. Goodwill pays it's ceo over $700k PER YEAR. Not to mention everything they sell, they get FOR FREE. This location exemplifies everything that is wrong with this company. The prices are ridiculous. Anything that looks brand-name even in awful condition is $20-30. Bargain bins are gone. I saw a used, sauce-stained container for $8. Absolutely absurd and despicable. This place is supposed to be a non-profit and serve low-income folks in our community. It's cheaper to buy new fast fashion. Wasteful, greedy and totally unacceptable. Do better Goodwill.UPDATE: Went back yesterday and found SINGLE, USED Tupperware marked at $3-4 EACH. Took a photo so everyone can see how ridiculous this place has gotten. I frequently see items for sale at prices that are HIGHER than they were when bought new. Despicable. I wonder how much they throw away now that they don't have bins..

This used to be our favorite goodwill and now it’s over priced, and sparse and won’t sell you something if it doesn’t have a price tag on it. Like a dvd. They have a wall of dvd’s all $2.99 ALL OF THEM but they won’t sell you the one without a tag on it. At least it doesn’t have a nauseating artificial smell anymore. Onward to other thrift stores.

I dropped off donations twice and the person handling the pickup was absolutely obnoxious! He clearly seems to have some special needs and I’m supportive of hiring anyone who can work, but if a normal employee talked to a customer like that they would be fired. It’s happened twice so far - I don’t think I’ll be going back to the Goodwill in Avondale PA.

Does anybody know why they got rid of the bins? That was the best part of this location. Everything is overpriced... Dollar store items for triple the price.

Overpriced clothes! The new racks for houseware has too much space dedicated to miscellaneous junk; scraps of someone else’s unfinished DIY crafting projects, pieces of items, broken or damaged things; basically what’s left in the bottom of a cart at Michaels when you go to use it.Not sure what changed in the sorting process since the new merchandising happened but it seems the good stuff doesn’t make its way to the shelves.

Used to find interesting, reasonably priced items almost every visit. Now, nothing but extremely overpriced junk, almost always over what new, retail price would be. I don't care how many cents per dollar go to your programs. If you think I'm going to pay more for your smelly, dirty junk than brand new, you're high. And they must be auctioning off all the good, vintage items.Don't waste your time.

The store has a policy that items without a price can't be sold and there was no way to hold the item or find out when it might be back on the shelf. I traveled all the way back specifically for something I had seen the day before and maybe it didnt seem important to the manager, but I felt very disappointed. I've never experienced this at a Goodwill before so maybe it is a new policy, or just because it was a different state? I even offered to wait as long as they needed, but they couldn't offer me any solution where I could actually get the item and I had to leave without it.

I wish I had a better update to the Goodwill in Avondale PA but they continue to mystify me with their choices. They went from packed towers of homegoods to almost bare shelves. Evidently they now send a lot of donations to other Goodwills in PA. That may be fine for them, but loyal customers who have shopped there for decades are used to higher quality and quantity of decorative items, dishes, silver and just plain interesting stuff. Even though they have tried a few new layouts, the newest one is again made by someone who never drove a cart down one of their aisle. At the new checkout counter you run the risk of being bumped by a cart as customers try to navigate a corner. Or they just give up and back down the long aisle. Please distribute the quality merchandise to local customers!
