Open by appointment, The National Apple Museum preserves the history of the apple & fruit tree industry in Adams County, PA through a number of exhibits housed in a restored pre-Civil War bank barn. Exhibits include early picking, packing and shipping of fruit, pest management, commercial fruit processing equipment, early orchard photographs, apple antiques and a recreated 1880’s farm kitchen & General Store. The museum also features collections of farming implements, apple peelers, fruit labels and much more apple memorabilia. Learn how the fruit industry impacted the growth and development of Adams County, as it still does today. The museum, opened in 1990, is owned & operated by the Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society.
