“A little smaller than some others in the area but they have a super wine room in the back. Everyone is quite knowledgeable and very very nice! “I stopped by on Friday afternoon for a beer and a snack. because it was a little chilly outside, I opted for the French Onion Soup. I've been ordering French Onion Soup for 50 years and nowadays most places throw a little cheese on that looks like it's floating in the broth. I normally ask them to brown the cheese well but i forgot this time. Much to my surprise, what came out had lots of gooey cheese baked onto the outside of the bowl. It took me a while just to pick it all off. It was also well browned. Although the broth could use a little more flavor, it was the best French Onion Soup I had had in a while. The beer was pretty good too. The server gave me several tastes before I decided which one to get. All in all a nice experience.”

“The owner was absolutely amazing. He took the day. He took the time out of his day just to make a delivery because his employee was not able to be there. This was absolutely above and beyond because he could’ve just canceled my order and stated oh go somewhere else and make a purchase, but what he did was absolutely amazing. He took the time out of his day to make a delivery for me absolutely amazing. I wish there were more people in the world like him going above and beyond and absolutely beautiful that he was able to do that for me so if you’re seeing this, thank you I was the one that was in apartment B you were able to make the delivery for even though it was snowing and everything, you still made sure that I was OK by making up the delivery and also by giving me some free items for the inconvenience so for that, I very much thank you.”
“A September 2025 change in payment policy adds a convenience fee for using a credit card. The stork clerk suggested a few alternative methods to bypass this -- pay cash, Venmo, etc. -- which I intend to do next time.
Otherwise, solid, well-stocked store with a lot of craft surprises. Recommended.”

The prices are always mich cheaper than competitors, the selections available endless, the shelves are always stocked, and the customer service it top-notch! Plenty of parking and no longer lines (except on holidays, or in preparation for the holiday).”

“Great selection from all over! Microbrews, craft brews, international and domestic. Domestic is organized by state and there is a huge area for picking six packs of individual bottles\cans. Specialty rare and limited release is wonderful.”
“My go to beer distributor! B has an excellent selection of various beers. I always go for the IPA selection but he’s got all the domestics too. Huge selection of cold beer as well as cold single cans too. He’s also been putting together these 4 pack and 6 pack beers made up of all local stuff so it’s a great way to sample the local beers without having to buy an entire case or 6 pack. He has soda and seltzers (plain seltzer water too).Very friendly as well! Always a pleasure to go here.”

“Always friendly. Always a good selection of the standard and more select beers. The model is convenient as is the location. I will admit I do feel pressure to order quickly if someone’s behind me - but never from the staff. Very great if you already have an idea of what you want. If you don’t, just park by the entrance and walk in to peruse.”
“I live in East Falls so this is the closest state store to me that's not in the hood, or over on city line avenue, which I avoid, or further away in Fairmount/Center City. Having been a resident of Roxborough in years past as well, this would have been even closer to me. Anyway, I've always found this location to be fine. Sure, the state needs to privatize the liquor/wine industry but besides that economic/political issue, I've always found the staff friendly, the location is typically well stocked and very clean. Even during the height of COVID in 2020/21 it was fine.
I'd honestly give it a higher rating but...1. I'm a beer drinker, so I'm only here 1-2 times a year picking up wine/spirits for parties or gifts and 2. As a mostly beer drinker, I've learned to stick with the same wines for parties and typically the same spirits, so I' don't really know how great their selection is for most items nor how helpful their staff would be recommending things.”

“Great food, even better atmosphere, but horrible service. Server had to come back three times to tell us that they were out of things that we ordered (apps and drinks). By the third time we gave up on the apps and ordered soup instead. The soups came out at the same time as our meals, though, so we had to decide which one to let go cold while we ate the other. It's a shame, because the food tasted great, was more than fairly priced, and the guitarist playing music was spectacular. Am hoping that it was just an off night, and with everything else so good I am definitely willing to give them another shot. On a separate note, and this is more about OpenTable than the restaurant, but we specifically searched for a restaurant that offered outdoor seating. This was a completely enclosed patio that had garage style doors open. Was far from being "outside."”
