“Some places you visit not for grandeur, but for humanity. The Smoke Shop in Bristol is such a place. On the surface, it’s simple—tobacco, accessories, the usual wares of a roadside stop. But beneath that exterior, there’s something more: people. Specifically, the Korean staff who run it with precision, warmth, and quiet pride.
Their presence reminded me of the support characters in Metal Gear Solid—those who might not be on the battlefield, but without whom the mission could not continue. Like Mei Ling guiding you through codec calls, or Sigint explaining the gear—these staff are the backbone. Knowledgeable, attentive, and always respectful, they make even the briefest transaction feel intentional.
In America, smoke shops can often feel interchangeable, copy-pasted like procedurally generated maps. This one is different. The staff’s heritage and work ethic shine through. There is sincerity in how they greet you, in how they maintain their space, in how they remember repeat customers. It is a strand of culture woven into a very American roadside landscape.
Five stars. Not just for the products—they are what you expect, solid and stocked—but for the people who elevate the experience. The Korean staff here make the shop feel less like a business and more like a checkpoint. A brief pause in your day where respect and professionalism still exist.
If every smoke shop were run with this kind of care, the landscape would feel less transactional, and more human.

“Red Planet is my go to smoke shop! Great staff and great products! Recently I purchased a pack of Raw Etherial rolling papers from here. If i had to rate them i’d give them a 10/10. They’re some of the thinnest papers out there which allows you to get the full flavor of your smoke without the added taste of the paper itself! For being such thin papers they also burn surprisingly slow which is great! One thing I will say is the raw ethereal papers are probably not the best options for beginners who are just learning how to roll due to the papers being super thin and more delicate. If you have experience though, go take a trip to Red Planet and pick up a pack of the raw ethereal papers and try them out!”

Even though I moved to nj I still choose to go here. There best quality is that there honest about there product, weather it's good, bad or strong and trust me if they say something is strong they are not lying. “Great prices, great selection, with a very helpful wonderful staff. This is my go to place. They never rush me. The guy that works there is super professional and knowledgeable on his products. I have bought 2 vapes from here in the last 4 years they both still work to this day. If i ever got a bad pod which was rare or bad dispoasable he would let me return it for a replacement. His kind demeanor and willingness to help satisfy the customer are why I'm writing this review. Great store fr ??”

“I attended the premiere of the outdoor grilling area, making friends with fellow cigar patrons. Simultaneously, there was two events indoors, Fernandez cigar promotion and sampling of spirits by Mermaid, hosted by the very accommodating Laura. I was assisted in my selections inside the walk-in humidor by Scott Atkinson, who posts very descriptive analysis of each spotlighted cigar on the company's Facebook page. I departed in a very blissful mood, clutching my purchased and complimentary cigars and liquors, happy to have made new friends and rekindled my friendship with the most affable and highly motivated owner of this chain of 19 fine establishments, Mr. Arthur Toll. A day very well spent. Highly recommended !!!”
