“Really surprised this thrift store wasn't on the Yelp radar, as it's pretty great! I found out about it's existance from an employee at another area thrift store. Located in a strip mall, parking is easy, and the store is bigger on the inside than it looks on the out but still on the smaller side. It's set up like a boutique, has various depts just on a smaller scale. The displays are nicely arranged and the prices are like those of a yard sale. I didn't see anything damaged or not of good condition. There were a good bit of vintage, mostly glassware, and some larger funiture pieces. Clothing wasn't as plentiful, which was fine with me. The employees were friendly and helpful. All the housewares appeared to be washed, as the glass sparkled. Throughout the store is cages with cats, very lazy cats, who don't even get excited when you approach their habitat. Still it was fun trying to interact with them. The cashier mentioned that they let them loose to wonder the store at night. My bf thought the store stank, but I didn't smell anything and their cages were neat and tidy. Obviously the proceeds from this store benefit the animals, and you may even be able to adopt the cats that reside there on the spot. I support their mission, liked having felines in the store, felt pricing was fantasic, and found several great vintage items for resale. It's a winner in my book!”

“My first experience with Gateway Gallery Auction was excellent from start to finish. All of the 13 lots that I purchased were exactly as expected. While I would have appreciated a little more in the descriptions, it strikes me that this auction house is thorough in their assessment of items - and only adds detailed commentary if an anomaly is noted. Regardless of the detail in the written descriptions; I very much appreciated the quick and complete responses that I received to my five or so questions regarding specific lots. The front office folks were pleasant and easy to work with. I drove from almost 400 miles away to pick up my items in person - and was very pleased by the accommodating actions of the staff who were packing items for shipping to other customers. They gave me space in their work area to pack my own items and were very helpful. In summary, a good experience and an auction house that I will keep in mind for my future needs.”

“Had the pleasure of visiting this location my thrifting weekend in Chambersburg the end of Jan 2023. It's located downtown, with metered street parking, with another thrift store in close proximity. Street parking was hard to secure the day of my visit due to an ice festival, but there is free street parking several blocks away. The front half of the store is antiques, large furniture and the like, all neatly displayed. These items were priced comparable to an antique store. As you head to the back you encounter household goods, linens, collectables, and such. They were heavy on dishware and cooking items, but they were displayed nicely, and all in good shape. Pricing was average, but the selection was expansive. Some of the misc items, such as a vintage Florentine box in bad shape was priced high for the condition, but most items were very reasonable. At the very back was a curated section of farmhouse decor items. I scored a handpainted decorative muffin tin with florals for only $1.50. By the register was an empty cage, which I assumed was for a cat, since this store benefits the animal shelter. They also had a nice selection of animal toys, supplies other than food, that appeared new, priced the same as a pet store. Past the register is a whole other side selling jewerly, clothes, shoes, toys, books etc. So the store is basically the size of two downtown shops in one. If you head towards the back of that side things tend to get a little messy and less organized. Overall I would say that side is organized but other than jewerly, care has not been put into merchandising. I didn't spend much time at the clothing side that day, but did look at the jewerly, which had a very large selection, way more than other thrift stores I've been to. Four stars because the antiques were a little pricey, the toy section was weak, and the parking situation. The positives are the housewares side for sure, their mission, and jewerly selection. I'd stop again if in the area for sure. Sidenote: I would not consider this store stroller or wheelchair friendly as some of the isles are tight. Glass is displayed low so be mindful if shopping with children.”
