“We try to support local small businesses as much as possible over the big chain stores because the little guys are who built this country. This is little hidden gem is a great little Mom & Pop grocery store that's been here for a long time. They do their own butchering onsite and stock some of the name brands as well. My Grandfather butchered for them back in the 50s and maybe the 60s. The meat selection here is good and they're not gouging folks like the big chain stores. Check out the deli case too as they have some nice selections and the folks behind the counter always greet you with a smile. We'll come to Freed's as long as they're open.”

“This is where I normally go for our weekly shopping. The prices mostly lower than other places in the area, though the selections are fewer (but does anyone really need 80,000 types of cereal?). The biggest issue I've seen is the one person on check-out. The last two times I've gone, I was near the back of the store in line for *one* checkout lane. Granted, check out here is much faster than most places, but that is ridiculous. Kudos to yesterday's check-out cashier, as he was absolutely busting his butt and clearly working hard to clear the line, but nobody else is available to open up a lane to alleviate the HUGE line? I'm changing my day to shop so that I have the ability to drop the cart and just walk out if the line is this long again and then go shop elsewhere. Prices are good, but it's clear they don't value the customers' time.”

“Redner's has the absolute nicest employees, and I love that they're a local employee-owned chain. Locally sourced products are sold at a good price and are very fresh. I'm a big fan of Clover Farms dairy products and the chicken leg quarters sold here. This isn't the place to get everything. They only carry certain cuts of meat, imported fruit is expensive and spoiling, and most items in the aisles are priced high (though sometimes they run great sales). This is where you go to get local food you need on a daily basis, at good quality and prices.”
“Low prices and usually well stocked. However, I would check the quality of produce before you buy it. There are instances where the produce will have mold/are wilted. Their produce is a hit or miss, to the point that Walmart produce section (309 Walmart) is better.”
“It's Saturday morning I wanted to purchase some fried chicken to take with us to the beach so I called Redner's in Collegeville they told me that they would not have any prepared food ready until 10:00 a.m. so I decided to call Redner's in Audubon they connected to prepared foods I spoke to a woman named Miss Dana and she told me that her oil is hot and whenever I want chicken she will have it ready for me and this is 6:30 in the morning when I spoke to her now that's making a customer happy.”

I also love that avocados are usually affordable and good quality, which isn’t always easy to find elsewhere. “Has many Latin American staple foods, including produce like avocados and tomatoes. Open 12 hours every day and nice staff. Prices are not marked and you get to find out at the counter that it's 50% more expensive than the big box stores. Probably good for grabbing that one ingredient you're missing if you live nearby.”

“Visited the Giant in Souderton today. Needed a few staples but stopped at the in-house Starbucks first which is staffed by Giant employees. The lovely woman at the register where you place your order was very happy to explain Starbucks' pink energy drinks. They accommodated my request for one half the caffeine. Delicious! Shopped for my items including picking up some already-cooked drumsticks with thighs for my pup with a tummy upset 🦁 The store is always clean and neat. If you don't have the time to wait at the deli counter, you can place your order at a kiosk there and they'll announce over the PA system when its available for pick up. They also have a wide selection of the most requested items in a case for grab and go. Bakery has a wide selection of goodies and their doughnuts are pretty good. Love the asiago bagels. Store staff is always friendly and quick to help you if needed. Customer Service counter is A+! I've gotten my prescriptions at their in-house pharmacy for a few years and they're always friendly and on top of things. Plenty of carts and a couple motorized ones. Parking lot is in good shape and pretty clean. Designated handicapped, pregnant and order pick up spots. Lot and store are monitored by in-house security systems.”

Walmart just launched Realm, its new 3D online shopping platform. To help you visualize what that means, imagine a virtual mall packed with bright colors, wacky landscapes, and cartoon avatars wandering around. Realm lets you browse "digital doubles" of real Walmart products by navigating through several make-believe worlds. "We believe this is the future of commerce," said Justin Breton, who leads brand experiences at Walmart. "It won't replace our website or app, but will complement them."
Target's new low-cost brand Dealworthy is rolling out this month in stores and online. With items starting at under $1, it is aimed at budget-conscious shoppers. The low prices on basics like phone chargers, paper plates and underwear will likely appeal.
Walmart is growing the number of its physical stores across America. The retail giant announced plans to open 150 new U.S. stores over the next five years while remodeling 650 current locations. This ambitious plan shows Walmart is still confident in real stores, even with online shopping booming. The chain currently operates over 10,000 stores nationwide.
Popular Florida-based grocery chain Publix is venturing into uncharted territory - Kentucky. Come 2024, Publix will unveil its inaugural Bluegrass State locations, comprising six stores sprinkled between Louisville and Lexington.
