About Montgomery County SPCA
Montgomery County SPCA is a well-established animal welfare organization with its oldest facility located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. This facility, built in the 1930s and modified in 1965 and 1983, is equipped with two kennel sections and a small animal room, capable of housing 100-150 cats and dogs.
The SPCA is praised for its kind and helpful staff, who have assisted in various situations, such as with a stray cat and a lost cat. The adoption process is described as simple, and the staff is attentive to the concerns and questions of potential adopters.
One reviewer had a positive adoption experience, adopting a cat named Leo in 2017. The SPCA ensured Leo left with his shots, was neutered, and chipped, and even provided free medication when the cat developed a cough.
However, not all experiences have been positive. One reviewer expressed disappointment with the SPCA's handling of their adoption application, stating that the Philadelphia location had discarded their paperwork, unlike the Conshohocken location. Another reviewer mentioned a condensending attitude and a lack of updates on available dogs, as well as not allowing potential adopters to interact with the animals in the kennels.
Overall, the Montgomery County SPCA is a mixed bag, with both positive and negative experiences reported by reviewers. The organization appears to be making efforts to provide quality care and support, but there is room for improvement in certain areas.
