“I don’t even know where to begin—this review is long overdue. I absolutely love Pit Stop HQ, and so does my dog, Pluto. I’d truly be lost without it.
Pluto has separation anxiety, and my housing situation makes it tough to leave him alone (barking isn’t really tolerated). Pit Stop has been a total game-changer. They make everything so easy. The fact that it’s hourly is a huge plus—I can drop Pluto off for just a couple of hours to run errands without having to pay for a full day, which isn’t the case at many other daycares in the city.
Pluto has an absolute blast every time he goes. The staff is warm, supportive, and just really good humans—friendly, personable, and clearly animal lovers. It’s also become my go-to for boarding, and Pluto treats it like an extra-long daycare session. When I leave him there, I have zero worries about his well-being. I know he’s in excellent hands.
The first time he stayed for a full week, I picked him up and—this might sound small, but it meant so much—he had no eye boogies. That’s never happened unless someone was gently cleaning them for him. That level of care says it all.
They’re also super accommodating about Pluto’s picky eating habits, including all the little accoutrements I add to his food. And most of all, I know they love him—and that matters.
The pricing is fair, the flexibility is unbeatable, and the love is real. This place is the shit. Thank you, Pit Stop HQ, for taking such good care of my guy.”

The store cat Punky Brewster is an icon in the neighborhood, it’s worth a visit just to say hi.”
“We’ve been here several times and really appreciate the self-bathing stations. Everything is always clean, well-stocked, and reasonably priced, which makes bath time for my two Golden Retrievers so much easier. I also love that they have fresh dog treats available, and the staff has always been friendly whenever we visit. Overall, it’s a great store for pet supplies and grooming needs. Definitely worth a visit!”

We started with Bob and Val and now Anne and John know our Springer Spaniel "Sam" as well as we do! Our grown children now travel in from Philly to Board their Golden Doodle. “PetSmart on Washington Avenue is a fantastic pet store. The store is enormous, exceptionally clean, well-organized, bright, and consistently well-stocked. I've shopped here for years for my dog Archie's food, treats, and supplies, and I still appreciate the selection and overall shopping experience.
The inventory is remarkable. The selection of dog food is impressive, and the variety of treats, toys, accessories, and health products makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for. No matter your dog's age, size, dietary needs, or preferences, there are countless food options.
The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the loyalty program offers real value if you shop here regularly. They also offer grooming services, which adds another layer of convenience.
One of my favorite things about this location is that it's an easy walk from the Rittenhouse Square area. I often bring Archie so we can get some exercise while picking up a new bag of food or a few treats. If you're driving, there's usually reasonable street parking nearby, though be aware that the attached garage may charge for parking.
If you're looking for the selection and convenience of a large pet retailer without leaving the city, this location is tough to beat. With its inventory, helpful staff, rewards program, and dog-friendly atmosphere, it's a great resource for Philadelphia pet owners. Highly recommended!”

“I was looking for a coat for my 95+ pound Boxer. He has an auto immune disease so his fur is very thin and he requires a coat from the fall to the spring. This coat is great because it is easy on/easy off. The fleece lining keeps him nice and warm and the nylon exterior keeps the water off him in bad weather. Overall, this jacket was an amazing find and I highly recommend it:-).”

“This SPCA saved my cat’s life. She had been diagnosed with cancer and the options were really put her down or a surgery I couldn’t afford so I called the SPCA to help me decide what to do. They were able to perform the surgery for her in a way that was financially possible for me. She has now fully recovered and the staff, vet, and vet techs were all phenomenal and attentive, even checking in post op. I am forever grateful for the team that saved Gracie. Even more so because I lost my dog shortly after her recovery, so having my cat by my side meant more than I can ever say.”
