Terrible conditions for these poor animals they put them down unnecessarily and it breaks my heart. They do not treat any of their animals with respect and the animals are scared. Do not trust this establishment!!

The worst smell I've ever experienced in my life. Shirt over my nose in the facility and had to throw clothes directly in the laundry once home. WOW how can they let animals live like that???

i had the pleasure of adopting my kitten, Otie (formerly A318469 — poor guy didn’t have a name!) from the SPCA in montgomery county. the morning i was supposed to pick him up, i got a call saying that he had a respiratory infection. the staff either offered to treat him there or to bring him home and they’d supply medications. i opted to have them treat Otie as we have another cat at home, which the staff was so understanding of and made sure little Otie was feeling mostly better before sending him home. the staff encouraged me to call every day to get an update and expressed appreciation when i did reach out to see how he was doing. i really appreciated their encouragement to call as i was worried i was being bothersome asking for updates. the adoption fee was quite cheap in my eyes and Otie is settling so well into our home with his brother Leo. thank you so much for all you do!

They were very kind and helped us with a stray cat we found. Told us to call and check back every day because we really do wanna make sure she's okay.

Was here last year after the loss of my 10yr GSD. Seen two dogs and was interested in both. I put one on hold due to be a friend of mine needing a place to stay with her dog and two cats. This location didn't throw away my adoption application as the one in Philadelphia and the Bassett hound was rehomed to another applicant which was a joy to my heart. I'm
looking for my forever friend and this shelter is so much better than the Philadelphia SPCA who got rid of my adoption paperwork as it's not their policy to save them.
So not cool. Dog I was interested in bit her adopted family member and was returned.
Doesn't update their available dogs nor do they let you into their kennels. Condensending attitude I used to work at this shelter year's ago what a difference from then until now.

they don’t care about animals. they wouldn’t take the stray we saved because we didn’t live in mont county. even though within a 5 mile radius. the manager or supervisor lady in the back didn’t budge or offer any customer service at all. luckily we did end up taking the stray to ACCT and they took her in without a problem. when you think about donations, give to an agency that deserves it, that truly cares about saving the animals not only about the area the human who’s bringing in the animal lives. give to a place with good customer service and a manager who respects people. i’ll never even come back for adoption nor will i allow my friends who live in mont county.
