“I really appreciate the level of customer service at this location—it’s clear that the usps as a whole is underfunded and many post offices, including this one, have serious staffing issues. Despite that, both my mail delivery man, and the people at the counter/on the phones at this location are far more polite and helpful than one might expect for a struggling government agency. For example— a package of mine was mistakenly sent to Delaware this morning, and i tried calling the Georgetown post office multiple times to get more information, only to have the 10-12 rings terminate in an ended call without even the option to leave a message, each time. But on my first try calling Downingtown, i not only spoke to an employee, but he was exceptionally kind and helpful. Outside of my private interactions, i also work for a small local business, and we have a great working relationship with the team at the Downingtown post office, whom we rely on pretty regularly. I am always so grateful for their level of professionalism in a time that i know first hand is stressful to be working in customer service, let alone also as a federal employee.”

“Love the convenience of this location! Postal workers are always inviting, happy, and helpful. I usually go early in the morning, and I've never experienced a long line, so I'm in and out.. I typically will buy some stamps to collect and love when they remind me when new ones have come out!!”

“My wife and I had a very pleasant experience handling our passports. I would gladly drive an hour to this location again as the service is much higher quality than most other locations.”

“Always a great experience. The workers are professional and uplifting. I go out of my way to come to this post office instead of the one in Exton, that is filled with rude and miserable workers.”

“I meant to get the clerk's name while I was there, today but someone came in right after the clerk finished with my transaction. She was above and beyond in more ways than one and was very understanding, professional, and amiable in solving my problem. I can only give 5 stars; if I could, I give a 100 times that. Thx, so much!”

“No offence to the other reviews on this post office but have you ever been to a different post office before? This is a small town post office designed for the volume of visitors a small town receives. They are closed for lunch. The service is great and even when there is a line (never more than 2 ahead of you) they are fast and friendly. Kimberton/Yellow Springs is just as great. I'm thankful for a nearby small town post office.”

“One of the best post office locations I have been to, and I frequent regularly as it's the closest one to where I live. The young man who's always working when I go is always super friendly and knowledgable about shipping and postage. Things get shipped out super quickly from the location too, very efficient and accurate.”

“I’ve been to the store twice in the last week. I was overwhelmed and they helped me through the process. Thank you! Can’t imagine how tough it’s been over the last few years dealing with upset customers, including myself. I was gonna leave a negative review then realized half of the trouble I’ve experienced shipping things were self inflicted. The folks there have helped me sort things out properly so everything ships smoothly. Anyway, hope you all find this encouraging. May more smiles come, more encouragement, more love and more peace come to this store and to Caln Township. Thanks for everything you do. And apologies for how the public, including myself, can be so grumpy especially when it comes to shipping things. For some reason it’s a big stressor for us all. Thank you for helping. We’ll try to be more kind and grateful!”

“Giving 4 star just because my work got done smoothly, but it took some time.Kind of a secluded place but work gets done. Staff looked quite introvert and had to wait for some time until someone showed up at the counter. But later felt like they are ok to help with queries and process for the first timers, just look like they are not happy with the job. Overall decent for a quick mail or money orders.”

“Thank you so much for all you do! We appreciate you!! There are over 13k people in this city! Thats a lot of mail, packages and everything in between. Fellow customers : Be patient, be kind. That is another human standing there trying to help you. One who is probably just as stressed as you....trying to serve over 13k people a day. Everyday.”

“I go out of my way to come here because the service is so much better than any local post office. Gary at the front desk is quite literally always there and is so friendly… it feels like he knows everyone in town. You can always find parking within a block or so to quickly run inside. Just wish their hours were longer. Also if your review is complaining about CALLING the post office you are obviously not up with the times on how short staffed they are. Don’t expect an answer just go by in person”

“While our favorite postman, Bob Hummel, has been on vacation our substitute postman Whitney has been an amazing professional friendly and sincere carrier. He even remembered every day he delivered the mail a treat for our dog who loves to greet the mailman every day with a friendly tail wag. Sure hope when Bob has a day off or vacation we are able to have Whitney. We love Bob but understand he needs a day off and vacation so when Bob can’t deliver the mail the next best is Whitney. Both men are fantastic.”
