“I been going to this store for the past 5 months, and I have experienced nothing but great customer service from customers service coordinator Nick. When I come into store he always greets me, asks me how am I doing and if I need any help. He is always very professional with me and anyone he comes encounter with. I often see he is very respectful and polite to her colleagues and coworkers. For what I can see when I’m in the store as often as I am, he always is making sure everyone in the store is happy. Celeste is also a wonderful worker, she is always respectful and kind.”

“Love this store and could spend hours here. The adult clothing is a little more expensive than other local thrift stores but the children's clothing is so cheap. They have large selections of kitchenware, children's toys and books, games, crafts, and more.”

“I was shopping at the Laurel House earlier today. Got lots of neat clothes for my daughter and myself. Prices are fantastic for the quality of the clothing!!!!!! I came home and remembered that I had been at the Laurel House for domestic abuse back in 1985, with my 3 year old daughter, and 8 month old son. I'm so glad I stopped in and able to give back.”

“Great store to purchase quality items. The store is clean, well lit, well stocked with a variety of clothing, shoes, household items and reasonably priced. This is my go to location for donating items and shopping. I'm always happy with my purchases.”

“Great place to visit around Halloween. Old house pretending to be a shop, probably run by the spirit of a well-to-do lady. Opened the front door to the clang of copper confectionary moulds before stepping into this pack-rat time capsule. Michael Jackson blasting from a staticy radio as I squeezed around heaps of clothes and paintings almost impossible to weave between, much less browse. Found myself in a kitchen that looked half in use, half shop space. Didn't see a soul and was too spooked to venture up the staircase despite the tantalizing old dresses at the top of it. Prey bait for sure. Most spooked I've been all month. I'm sure the clothing is nice, too. 4.5 stars”

“Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the clothing is too jammed in now and it’s claustrophobic. New owner is great. Like any used clothing by store, beware of buying anything wool…”

“AWESOME place to donate. You pull up, leave items on the pallet, and go. But usually staff rushes out to help. Huge shout out to DeVonte for being THE BEST!!! He should be the manager!!”

“I got there right before closing to get a cabinet I saw the day prior while driving through. The price was awesome and it was something i had been searching for. I wasn't fully sure I could fit it in my SUV and needed some cart to move it out of the store. The girl working (long blondish hair, not the cashier) moved it on a cart and brought it out to the parking lot. Then helped me load it. I don't ever buy large items like this so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get the cabinet. I'm posting this a month later (this was jan 21) but wanted to thank her above and beyond efforts.”

“Lots of stuff in this store. Lots of luggage, bags, shoes and so on. Like any other goodwill, some of the stuff is mixed up with other sizes. Some customers don’t bother to put it back where it should go.”

“A nice thrift store. I drove an hour to go there and I say my trip was worth it. Only two complaints…. First are the prices. They charge $3.50 for the majority of kids clothing- no matter the brand, yet any and every adult shirt and sweaters are $6.99 or above. It’s kinda ridiculous. From where I am from shirts are $3.99-5.99. And sometimes your left wondering why two of the same shirts have different prices. Secondly, whilst looking at the trinkets and such I noticed a group of women in the back just standing in the middle of the walkway. Then, a fresh cart of goods came from the back and they all darted to the cart like a person who hasn’t eaten in 10 years. And when I tried to pass them, one of them started to look at me with disgust because my cart was “hitting her”. I pulled the deaf card and she immediately backed away. Regardless, those types of resellers are always annoying and it seems that this spot is big with them (they sure are terrible resellers bc I found plenty of things worth value that was on the shelves already). Anyways, besides those two things, I still liked my visit. Thanks greedy- i mean, Goodwill!”

“Here's a more detailed breakdown:
1. Rising Operating Costs:
Rent and Utilities: Like any retail business, Goodwill stores have to pay for rent, utilities, and other operational expenses, according to Haven House Thrift Stores.
Wages: Increased wages for employees also contribute to higher operating costs.
2. Increased Demand:
Thrifting Trend:
The popularity of thrifting and the growing interest in sustainable consumption have led to a surge in demand for used goods, according to Yahoo Finance.
Resellers:
Resellers often purchase items from Goodwill and then sell them online at higher prices, notes a YouTube video. Goodwill's prices may be influenced by what resellers are willing to pay, and they may also be looking to capitalize on the resale trend themselves.
3. Quality and Brand:
High-end Items:
Items in good condition, especially from well-known brands, may be priced higher than lower-quality or generic items.
New with Tags:
Even if an item is used, its condition and brand can significantly impact its price.
4. Goodwill's Purpose:
Non-profit Mission:
Goodwill is a non-profit organization, and its profits go towards supporting community programs.
Raising Funds:
Goodwill stores need to generate revenue to fund their mission, which may lead to higher prices compared to for-profit retailers.”
