“I’ve been using Shimmy Shine for over 12 years—seven or eight of those at the Bethlehem location on Route 191. After moving, I switched to the Allentown location on 31st Street, which is about five miles from my home.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the service. I have the unlimited wash package for both of my vehicles, which includes the spot-free rinse. However, I’ve noticed that if I don’t dry the vehicles before leaving, I still get water spots. Fortunately, they now provide free drying towels, so I just pull into a stall and spend a couple of extra minutes drying everything off. That completely takes care of the spotting issue.
There are about a dozen vacuums available for free after you exit the wash bay. Once or twice I’ve used one with weak suction, but since the stalls are close together, it’s easy to switch to the next one. And if it’s crowded or you can’t move over, just let an attendant know—they’re quick to fix it, whether it's a clog or too much debris.
If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to sweep or power wash the drying/vacuum stalls more often. They can sometimes get a bit messy underfoot. If that small issue were addressed, I’d give them six stars instead of five.”

“This place is awesome. If you want to get your car really clean, this is the place to do it. The facilities are well-managed and upkept, the hot soap breaks down all the dirt on your car, and the high-power jet dry is great. The vacuums are also high-suction and effective unlike most car wash vacuums. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to go here.”

“Wonderful customer service, I've had several issues like vacuums clogged up to my vehicle not going in neutral. Every time the staff has been very friendly and understanding. The wet towels are a nice touch to help get door wells and other areas that can rust away the body of a car. I personally use my sparkle club membership every weekend and highly recommend it, especially if you live around this area during winter. You will get a lot more life out of the body of your vehicle plus it's far more efficient than washing at home.”

The pads hit the car a bit harder than others, which concerned me at first as they fully rattle and shake the car (2023 Nissan Rogue), but alas, the car comes out clean without issues and as a plus...the air dryers are so powerful they actually blow the excess water off your car upon exit. No soapy leftovers to deal with when you hand dry. Great place! ?”

Every time I come here, I’m impressed by the quality of service and how much attention they put into making sure the car comes out looking great. The staff is friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which makes the whole experience quick, easy, and enjoyable.

“I have a car that has colored Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Ceramic costing that requires a very specific cleaning regiment.
I have found Hellertown Auto Wash overall outstanding. Very Clean - Fully Functional - Well Maintained Equipment.
Automatic Wash outstanding for those like me that can't have any type of a brush wash. Self Service Bays - Water pressure a perfect - 1100 PSI (not too much or too little pressure - just the perfect amount).
An amazing hand held air dryer that you can really dry your entire car in minutes with no worries of scratches. Blows out all the water in all door jambs, creases and trunk & hood panel gaps.
Very reasonably priced and you can easily pay by coin, credit card or Apple Pay. You can stop charges every four or five minutes or let it continue and will time out at $15 after 15 minutes. Several high quality vacuums.
Outstanding customer service, if you call the owner he is very nice and will answer any questions and is very accommodating.
Overall outstanding and I highly recommend Hellertown Auto Wash!

“This is a respectable convenience store where you can find anything you'd think would be found at a convenience store, ciggies, beverages of great variety from milk to iced to hot tea, coffee and sodas of course; alcohol is not sold here - candy, chips and dips, basic tools and auto liquids, ice cream and one Puerto Rican kid, who was waiting to go to Army boot camp, who came out and helped me push my truck, which had run out of gas, from a nearby highway's off ramp, to the pump.
