“Loved this historic hotel. The attached Ridge restaurant is amazing. The portions are enormous, the service outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. The hotel is clean, well decorated, beds are comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The town of Hawley is beautiful, charming and has a lot to offer within walking distance to the hotel. Highly recommend and plan to return”

“We arrived on Saturday morning to attend a wedding local to the Academy St B & B. We were warmly greeted by Michelle the proprietor of this beautiful and impressive Victorian home which it’s decor is both traditional and timeless with touches of modern comfort. The following morning Michelle presented us with a most delicious and homemade assortment of freshly baked goods and a fabulous French toast with fresh blueberries and warm syrup. I can not wait to plan my next visit with this wonderful establishment.”

“An absolutely beautiful place that no one should miss the opportunity to stay at!!!! The single best customer service from the moment you walk in the door the gentleman and the lady with the short dark Curly Hair at the front desk were absolute all stars and so warmly welcoming I wanted to thank them both by saying How absolutely spectacular they were today when we happened to wander in and The lady sitting at the desk and the thin young man offered us to come in and see your place and It didn’t disappoint, but just as impressive as your views that I’ll never forget and will be telling everyone about…. Was their customer service, warm welcome, and hospitality I Loved it and know anyone visiting the area would never find any place nicer or with better service, I hope you’ll reward the staff with a job very well done!!!!”

“Exactly the quirky, upscale hotel we enjoy. Squeaky floors (not noticeable while sleeping), early to mid-2000s architecture and decor, and wonderful service. The grounds were exceptional (lovely riverfront hikes) and they and the hotel were very dog-friendly, with bowls, a toy, and dog biscuits in our room when we arrived. Kevin at the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful or kind and the lady at the desk in the morning—unfortunately we never got her name—was equally gracious. I’d mistakenly booked a week before we were actually visiting and Kevin called me about 9 to see when we were arriving and helped me rebook for the correct nights. The on-site restaurant was five stars, too, both for breakfast and dinner. Well worth the trip off our direct route. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely return. One warning—upstairs rooms appeared to be accessible only by steep stairs, so if you have disabilities, be forewarned.”
