Dear Salvation Army Clientele and District Managers: HORRENDOUS experiences lately! The store is dusty and stinks of MOLD and MILDEW! What happened here under new management the last few years?
There is a huge display sign in the front window saying they’re in desperate need of donations and to bring them to the bin in the back. You go to the back and there is no bin, but a small sign that says bring donations to the front of store. No consistency. I didn’t bother donating my things that day because when I returned to the front, THREE female staff members were smoking cigarettes in the actual doorway entrance to the business! Why represent a business like this? You couldn’t walk a few feet away from the building? People, children are walking into clouds of smoke just to enter the store. I don’t like clothing that smells of smoke, yet my hair smelled like it from this store. GROSS!
The manager and the assistant manager were rude, dazed over, and not personable at all. Good thing I came alone because I would have been embarrassed if I recommended this place in its current state. It’s a shame because this very Salvation Army family store used to be spectacular, now it’s an eyesore inside and out!
My entire family shopped here for many years - the longtime manager DONNA was a doll. MARIE was fantastic! The lady with the apron, bigger hair and cool makeup was fun! I’ve had many great vintage finds. The store was clean, organized, prices just as fair as Kidder street in Wilkes-Barre, Stroudsburg in the Poconos, etc. Sales and donations seem to be down here because there’s such LOW QUALITY product put out on the floor by the current team. Clothing is CUT with scissors, HOLES, STAINS, RIPS, ODORS, etc. I’ve never seen $8.99 or $10.99 or $17.99 price tags in any Salvation Army. I assume they’re not following the standard prices of the company in hopes of compensating for lack of items and sales - a direct attempt to lowball us customers, for sure. The family won’t come here and rack up anymore. SAD!

I wanted to donate a kitchen. Table and 6 chairs
The man was inspecting the chairs and called his boss to tell him the chairs were stained.
The chairs were pristine. They are the material that when you rub the cloth one way it's dark the other way it light, like velvet.
I think he just didn't want to lift the table because it's heavy.
I'll never donate to to this S A again.

Filthy, dark, and musty. Won’t be returning to this location. Such a disappointment.

PROS: very nice store with a good amount of clothes and bric a brac. I also think their vhs selection was the largest by far. They have 3 floors of items while their staff was nice and have great daily deals CONS: parking is scarce as you have to pay for street parking OVERALL: I would definitely come back here to shop. As long as there's parking right outside

OMG dirty is the only word I can use that sums up what this place is like the floors and stairs look like they have NEVER been swept and the lighting is so bad it is just depressing and you feel like you are in a dungeon. The walls going up the stairs are covered in cobwebs and all stained ??the clothes all looked like they were taken from the garbage.
