Historic Rock Ford is a beautifully kept hidden gem and the historic home of General Edward Hand. It offers guided tours of the circa 1794 Hand Mansion, which are fantastic and incredible, led by knowledgeable guides. Admission also includes the Snyder Gallery, an art gallery with a collection of old furniture located in an 18th century barn. The grounds are beautiful and part of a large central county park with trails for a nature walk. The site holds historic presentations and events monthly. It is not suitable for young children, and the mansion tour involves stairs. The museum is open from April through October.
A great historic place to visit. While i was there a herd of deer was in the next field, beautiful to watch. The surrounding County Park is lovely too. Trails, River, Covered Bridge is all there. Also there will be a Liberty Bell replica with artwork on display for America 250th Anniversary for 2026.

A beautifully kept hidden gem. Our guide Cristina was fantastic, and the gentleman in the Snyder Collection was equally wonderful. Everything is so well-maintained and presented—highly recommend!
