“Took my first class at Ken's Gardens. It was so much fun! It was a small group 16 people and the instructor was so helpful, informative, and skilled at sharing her knowledge. The garden shop is filled with lots of beautiful flowers, containers, bird bathes, bird feeders, soil, bird food and gardening tools. Also a sweet coffee shop located right inside! Everyone was helpful and friendly. Highly recommend visiting for your next class or garden shop run.”
“Very nice and various selection of seeds! I’m new to gardening and was not disappointed with their options of seed! I love how everything is alphabetical and categorized, it made finding what I wanted easy. Their catalog is very helpful, detailed and descriptive which is very helpful in making a decision. They store is organized, and feels like an old general store but for seeds! ❤️ staff is knowledgeable and helpful.”
“Ordered 5 sets of fig cuttings. Followed the companies videos very closely on every cutting and got 3 of the sets growing beautifully. 2 sets did not take at all however and one set even had mold on it. The company said it would replace the moldy one but the one that didn't grow was just "difficult" and they wouldn't replace that one. Not a big fan of that policy but the other figs are doing well.”
“Decent quality mulch, OK service. Got two scoops (two trips... small pickup) and my only real complaint was getting some stones and paper litter in the scoops, probably from the ground in the mulch yard.
Will return... conveniently located reasonably priced.”
“I get my fall Mums and spring flowers here. I've gotten house plants too. Always friendly and helpful staff. The flowers are beautiful and healthy. Prices are reasonable. I enjoy shopping at Frey's.”
“I’ve been shopping at Stauffers of Kissel Hill for several years now, and it’s my go-to spot for quality groceries. I usually stop in for their produce, deli lunch meats, poultry, seafood, and baked goods—and they consistently deliver. I also found out that SKH is the only supermarket around that sells the Boulder cut of beef, which I use for my shredded beef, so that alone keeps me coming back.
Their deli has a wide variety of lunch meats and cheeses, and everything is always fresh and well stocked. I’m a big fan of their seafood department too—the fresh fish and shellfish are top-notch. As for the bakery, in my opinion, SKH has the best-tasting pumpkin pie in all of Lancaster, PA.
While their prices are definitely higher than other supermarkets, I honestly think it’s worth it because of the quality and wide selection they offer across the board. Stauffers of Kissel Hill is my number one supermarket, and I recommend it to everyone.”
“On a last minute trip, we ended up getting stepping stones, concrete etc- Huge shout out to our new favorite worker, Andrew, who was working in the loading area!! Husband is a disabled veteran and Andrew was funny, courteous, and a huge help!!”
“My previous Earthbox produced more than 600 grape tomatoes from 2 plants in one season! I had to give some of the tomatoes to my neighbor because of the amount. I had to buy a new Earthbox because I moved to a different city and did not take it with me. I hope the tomatoes turn out well again this year.
The Earthbox is very well designed, can’t over or under water the plants it seems. I have the trellis system to allow for the plants to climb. It is pretty sturdy. I have the one with wheels on it to make it easy to move.
The Earthbox truly does produce good and plenty of fruit! After the vegetables were gone for the season I planted colder weathered flowers in them that grew even during the winter snow. I did not water the plants during the winter time though.
The Earthbox is definitely a great tool for gardeners and worth the price!”
