I needed to process a change of address issue and was short on time on a day when the line was backed up. Thankfully the staff was helpful, professional, and had multiple attendants ready to help the line move quickly.

Zero Stars – Unacceptable Mishandling of Mail
Our experience with the Macungie USPS has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. We recently moved, and without any communication or official notice, our local mail carrier took it upon themselves to start holding our mail at the post office - a full month before we vacated the residence. This decision was never discussed with us, nor were we given the legally required notice that our mail had been redirected. Even more concerning, the carrier shared information about our mail and forwarding status with neighbors instead of contacting us directly. This is not only inappropriate but potentially a violation of privacy regulations. On the final day at our house, we checked the mailbox expecting several important items, including time-sensitive pet medication. The box was completely empty. It was only through our neighbor and landlord that we learned the mail carrier had told them our mail was being held at the Macungie Post Office and that we would need to go there to retrieve it. Wanting to confirm before taking time off work, I called the post office directly. The employee who answered the phone was immediately rude and dismissive. When I asked if my mail was there, she responded with sarcasm and annoyance: “Well, why would your mail be here if you forwarded it?” I explained that I had not set up mail forwarding, but based on what we’d been told, the mail was apparently being held there anyway - and that was the reason for my call. Rather than helping, she became increasingly short and unhelpful, ultimately snapping “YOUR MAIL ISN’T HERE,” and hanging up on me. No effort to assist. No clarification. Just complete disregard for someone trying to track down missing mail. My partner ended up taking time off to go in person - only to find out that yes, our mail had been there the entire time. However, because it had been sitting there for over 10 days, it had already been returned to sender. Ten days. And who knows how long it had been there, since we were never notified that the carrier had stopped delivery in the first place. No note was left in our mailbox, no attempt was made to contact us in any way, and no official procedure was followed. The carrier apparently decided, based on neighborhood gossip or assumptions, that we had moved early - and simply stopped delivering our mail. We’ve never spoken to or even met the carrier, so it’s unclear how they reached that conclusion. Even worse, when we followed up with a complaint, the carrier backtracked and claimed the mailbox was “full.” Let me be very clear: our mailbox is not a standard-sized box. It’s huge - 24” x 16”. It has never been full, not once, especially considering we typically receive only a few pieces of mail per week, mostly junk flyers. We later learned that “full mailbox” is one of the few justifications a carrier can use to hold mail at their discretion - but they are still required to notify the recipient. And that never happened. Why? Because that wasn’t the real reason. The real reason was baseless speculation fueled by small-town nosiness, not policy. This entire situation was handled with an alarming lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability. The behavior of both the mail carrier and the post office staff was unacceptable. Mail delivery is a public service - not a rumor-fueled guessing game. Macungie USPS, do better.

We had a very positive experience at the U.S. Post Office with Lori while applying for passports for our two boys. She was incredibly kind, professional, and pleasant throughout the entire process. Her patience and friendly demeanor made what could have been a stressful task smooth and efficient. We're truly grateful for her excellent service! Thanks Lori!

Your services are horrible. My sisters are sick and I am pretty busy working for me to pay the bills. When I went to pick mails from mailbox after sometime I found a notice telling me that the box was full and they had to take them back. They stated that if I don't reach out to them they will be sent back to the senders. I tried to call them as I am at work and no one else can go to their office but only the machine I can talk to. I tried many different ways to get to an agent but the system is not allowing me to talk to someone. This is very frustrating and annoying

Absolutely the worst post office. I had issues with lost mail 2 times. First time I called and the lady answered and hears I have an issue with my mail so she told me they were closed call back later. They were not closed. I drove 5 minutes down to find that they were fully opened. She just didn’t want to do her job dealing with a problem. Today I called for another problem and the lady answered and heard I had an issue with my mail so she told me that she couldn’t hear me but that I could hear her because they were having problems with their phones. Then she hung up. Unbelievable. If you don’t want to do your job quit. I tried filing a complaint with USPS but that is useless too. Just get an endless menu on the phone and there is no e-mail contact.

They won't give you a change of address form when the website is down. Also many complaints have been filed. If you wanna save time go elsewhere.

Waited 10 minutes at the counter with no staff coming to assist, once they did were extremely rude, dismissive, and kept cutting me off. Worst experience a USPS location can offer.

I would give zero stars if I could. Fire all your employees. They have zero interest in helping people. The person there literally told me to leave to help the person behind me before helping me. So rude. Then I was helped by a literal customer. When your customers are helpful but not the people getting paid you know there's a problem.

I received a notification that a package was delivered. When I got home there wasn't a package. I have a ring camera that shows there wasn't a package delivered. Spoke to the supervisor at the Macungie Post Office and she's telling me my package was delivered no matter what my camera video shows. They won't do anything about it.

Never have I seen so many one star reviews.
I’m not sure why the postmaster has not been fired.
It’s just a known thing by word of mouth that she is almost never available and nobody is sure what she does (sure doesn’t sound like she actually works, just rides on her supervisors working for her.)
With so many complaints about missing mail - you’d think maybe they’d be investigated for theft - sounds like they can’t keep carriers because of the dictatorship they’re running so it has to be higher ups stealing mail.
What really sucks is, they don’t pay carriers for the hours they actually worked, they verbally harass and abuse them, and they are the only line of authority to appeal through - haha, you have to go thru the postmaster to report to HR.
What? Are we back in the 50s? What happened to civil rights for humans? Law 68??
Sad part is, it sounds like it’s just the postmaster and a couple other people that screw it up for everyone else because there are a lot of reviews naming specific employees that were very helpful. HEY USPS - it’s abusive to subject your employees to such poor leadership!! Clean house!
Zero accountability is WHY it’s such a badly run office and nothing CAN be done about it otherwise maybe someone would have done something about so many one star reviews with very LEGITIMATE complaints!!
WHY is there nobody to hold poor leadership accountable?? Absolutely ridiculous!!! If you read some of the reviews it will make your blood boil!!
Verbally abusing employees?
Being verbally abusive to elderly people?
Calling the police for paying customers asking you to do your job? What kind of operation are you running??
Call, write to your local and state representatives and get the leadership CLEANED OUT OF THIS OFFICE!
Macungie deserves better than this poor “service”
If something isn’t done I’m going to go to the press.
