Banks in Moon, PA

“I have been a Dollar Bank customer at the Moon Twp Branch for over 20 years. Two months ago, one of my 6-month CDs expired; I was traveling and did not respond to the notice to renew the CD within the specified time. As a result, the CD renewed at a 1% APR. As it was my fault in not responding, I planned to wait out the 6 months and get a better rate then.

I was at the Moon Branch today and mentioned this (in passing) to the teller (Joseph), who was helping me with some other business. Joe took it upon himself to talk to the Branch Manager, who said that it could not be handled at the branch level as the CD had been opened online. Joe took my phone number and promised to call management to see if he could do anything to help me with this; this was unexpected, as I did not ask for any help. Joe called me back, and Dollar Bank agreed to increase my rate to 3% (a good rate) and to backdate the 3% to the renewal date! Totally unexpected and fantastic!

I’ve noticed some negative reviews, but it’s worth remembering that everywhere is short-staffed these days — kindness and patience go a long way. The employees here are doing their best and it shows.

“I stopped over here about a month or so ago to help my daughter transfer funds from a different bank. One of the things I was glad about was that they have Sat hours.We went inside and I noticed how clean it was. There really wasn't a lot of people in there at the time. The teller called us pretty quickly and handled her needs. She also gave her an overview of Zelle which is a direct payment option she has out of her account to pay another person.I got a nice pen while visiting. My daughter was very pleased that things went smoothly with her. This branch is located where Steak and Shake used to be near Robinson Towne center.Will come again if the situation warrants it.”
