Dogs & Cats Rule
2814 S Eagle Rd, NewtownLove Dogs&Cats Rule for all my more niche pet needs!! When I’m looking for special treats, specific toys/puzzles, a certain brand or something that fits my dog who is outside the range of sizes most chains offer, I’m at Dogs&Cats. I always find what I need here. Staff is generally young, has always been friendly to us as customers. It’s a bit cramped inside and there’s a bunch of loose items, so fair warning if you have any mobility issues or a larger dog.

Pet Grooming

Blue Pooch Grooming
156 N State St, NewtownI have been taking my mini golden doodle (who is on the larger side of mini) to Blue Pooch for several years now. My doodle at times can be a little difficult because I got her during Covid. Caitlyn, Denise and Justine are the BEST! They understand and are very patient and understanding with her. I drive an hour to them, that’s how much I trust them . Always professional, helpful and courteous. My dog comes out happy and gorgeous! I recently added a Pomeranian to the mix. Both dogs absolutely love going. They are treated so warmly and cared for as if they were their own dogs. Beautiful grooming, professional, caring, accommodating and fun staff.
I can’t imagine you will find a better grooming facility.

Sycamore Veterinary Hospital: Neubauer S DVM
228 N Sycamore St, NewtownI switched to Sycamore vet after the disastrous outcome from my experience with Holland vet. Update: Melody had to be put down last month due to atrophy in her legs brought on by the Chloramphenicol prescribed by Dr. Carey. Since changing to Sycamore Vet my experience was fantastic. Dr. Weiss was excellent in caring for my little girl. Most recently, I received a card in the mail signed by every one at Sycamore vet sending their condolences. It was unexpected and absolutely appreciated. I just remember when Melody was being to show signs of arthritis. Dr. Weiss prescribed a couple meds which almost immediately resolved the symptoms. Can't say enough abt my positive experience with Sycamore other than to say I wish I'd taken her there sooner. Excellent group of people at Sycamore. If I ever decided to get another dog I would most definitely bring her here. Thanks!

Pet Sitting & Training

Bark Busters Home Dog Training Bucks County
NewtownPete has been great with my reactive small dog. Walking her was not a pleasant experience. She pulled on her leash and went ballistic if she saw another dog. In just one visit Pete was able to correct her behavior and mine. Having the tools and knowledge that Pete provided has made walks with my dog something I now look forward to. Pete focused on her barking during his second visit. He has made a positive impact in such a short time. I highly recommend Pete!

Sit Stay Newtown
550 Washington Crossing Rd, NewtownStruggled to find a place to board my 2 dogs for 2 weeks together. One of them is sort of a handful. The owner worked out a method to keep my pups stress free and safe. The kennel is a farm style place with outdoor runs and a cooled indoor space. App is easy to use for scheduling. Highly recommend.

Harvest Seasonal Grill - Newtown
2865 S Eagle Rd, NewtownA Local Favorite in Newtown: Fresh, Seasonal, and Attentive
I have been to Harvest Seasonal Grill in Newtown at least half a dozen times, and it is consistently one of my favorite spots in Bucks County. Whether it’s for brunch, lunch, dinner, or happy hour, it never disappoints.
The Food & Menu
Their farm-to-table approach really shines through in the freshness of the dishes. I love that they offer a great selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options—it makes it so easy to dine with a group.
• Must-Try: The Cuban Black Bean Bowl is one of my go-tos (the chicken add-on is great, but it’s a fantastic plant-based option on its own).
• Seasonal Favorites: Keep an eye out for their Butternut Squash Soup in the cooler months—it’s delicious.
• Drinks: Their sangria is a must-have in the spring and summer; they always have such creative and refreshing seasonal flavors.
The Service & Atmosphere
The staff here is incredibly nice and attentive. They truly care about their guests—they even called me once when someone in my party accidentally left their boxed leftovers behind! It’s that kind of personal touch that keeps me coming back. The atmosphere is upscale-casual and perfect for any occasion.
Parking & Location
Located in the Village at Newtown, parking is generally easy to find in the surrounding lots, which is a nice break compared to some of the busier city locations.
Final Verdict: If you want a fresh, high-quality meal with service that actually cares, Harvest is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

The Temperance House
5 S State St, NewtownJennifer and Tracy were clearly in a rush. I sat next to the Ghost of George Washington.
This is the best spot for a kickback any night of the week. There’s a chill atmosphere until late and always the friendliest service (unless you’re bringing the beef). Food will fill your belly and music will fill your soul.
P.S. Tammy is the best
