“I don't usually write reviews at all but I have been so moved by this funeral home and their compassion and services. In February 2022 I came to them for a cremation when my mother died. John was so very gentle with me. Everything went so easily and smoothly. I felt in very capable and kind hands.Within a day or two, after I had made the arrangements and left, John contacted me because I had left a ring on my mother's finger, and he asked me if I wanted it. Also, my requests around the ashes were a bit unusual and he was able to make sure everything I wished for was accomplished. Now, a year later, I have received a lovely card recognizing the one year anniversary of my loss. I am so touched this funeral home's sensitivity and kindness. I can't recommend them enough!”

“No one is ever really prepared for the loss of a loved one. You find yourself in a time of great sadness having to make decisions that will impact forever how you remember that person. Picking the right place to handle the task is of utmost importance. It was predetermined that my mother would be cremated. While most funeral homes offer cremation services, a lot of them outsource the job to a third-party and are members of a larger conglomerate. It was deeply comforting to know that once our loved one reached Cavanagh, everything was handled in-house. The same compassionate people who took the time to get to know our family and guide us through planning the service were also the ones caring for her with dignity behind the scenes. That continuity meant the world to us. Brian Gill guided us through the process with professionalism, knowledge and kindness. He was always available for questions and the follow-up was appreciated. On the morning my mother passed I received a call from Paul who wanted me to know he was leaving to pick up my mom. I can’t remember exactly what he said but I felt comforted in the words he offered. Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes are members of the community and to us it was important that we patronize a locally owned family business and not lining the pockets of corporate shills. “This review is to Thank Wendy Palmer and the staff that worked with her while handling my Mom home-going service. Things were handled in a very Professional manner. They took care of all the needs of the family. If there was any mistakes it was not on her. She requested photos to be given to her in a timely manner and had to stay up late the night before to get things done . As for the announcement cards she was waiting on a picture from the person who was suppose to be in charge. The program had to be proof read before it was sent to the printer the night before. She worked very late trying to get things finished in time for the service. As for the picture it was I who purchase it which did not come out of the family funds at all.The cost did not matter to me and my husband. I thought the Crown presentation was Beautiful also which was done from her heart. I would recommend the service of Distinguished Memorial Chapel to others and have them request Wendy Palmer.
