My partner found drama and Remi on the street and helped facilitate their care and they ended up at ACCT.
ACCT is great and we support them fully - let me just state that. This review is for the rude young lady at the front.
We were saddened to learn of Drama’s timestamp. I wanted to stop by the day before and give drama a nice long walk and and some relaxing time at the park/river/etc before he had to be put down.
I walked into the intake office and the person there was so rude and condescending when I asked if I could walk Drama. I was unaware that I needed to be an approved volunteer/etc and she treated me like I was trying to steal him. I asked to even stay and play with him and she said “you can look at him through the glass”.
I understand that it’s all part of the process and the work ACCT does lead to low moods but the rudeness was extra and a bit heartless for a dog just waiting to be put down.

They need to help these pets more not just euthanize them to make room.
You rotten people out there that surrender, throw your pets out like trash, well you are trash! A pet is a lifetime commitment.
Don't ever get one if you cannot commit to the lifetime of that pet.
Don't you think these pets have feelings.
Well yes they do.
Maybe when you get old someone will throw you out on the street or in an old age home.

This place should be SHUT DOWN. I understand by city law they have to take in all animals received, but they don’t give them a chance to get adopted before euthanizing. There are plenty of no kill shelters that could take them in if this place didn’t exist. So sad for these poor animals; they have no idea what’s coming when they enter here :( Please Philly CLOSE IT DOWN!!!

they don’t really care about animals. I reported a poor dog multiple times but they never act. They’re just there to get donations from people.

So I went and got a dog from them took it home dog was not properly trained growled at anything took the dog back and the person said it's ok not every dog is compatible to people.Fast foward went yesterday to find a new dog and saw this dog I took back was already time stamped not even 26 days after but you can't adopt for 30 days after you bring the dog back so they didn't even give her 30 days and put her down today so they sent out a wheres Waldo looking supervisor to tell me I said it bite my toddler so I can't adopt another dog funny cause I don't have a toddler my toddler is 26 already so who I said that to and also I put my wife doesn't help another lie my wife works with animals but I guess they put what they want once you leave on paperwork so they have a reason to time stamp a dog who was only 1 year old to make room for other dogs very sad...Told me I couldn't adopt for 30 days after bring her back but you couldn't even give her 30 days to find another home...

The folks there do God's work. So many unwanted furry friends who would normally be out on the mean streets or worse. We just adopted a little cat who started out in bad shape until ACCT gave her the care she needed. Now, she has become our sweet and affectionate girl. Thank you.

I always adopt my animals from acct Philly because they are so overwhelmed with pets. They are not allowed to say no when someone is abandoning their pet. They let you foster, they let you volunteer, they let you do so many things to help. They get a bad reputation for putting dogs on a timestamp and euthanizing them. But they actually work really hard not to do that. However, they can’t help it if the world sucks and chose to abandon their dog at a shelter. I adopted 2 lovely house hippos from them and 1 cat. The dogs had behavioral issues that any shelter dog is expected to have. So we trained them over the years and when we felt like we couldn’t, we hired a professional. All they care about is getting the animal out of the shelter. That is their job all day everyday. And we love our pets from them. We now live 45 mins away and would still come there to adopt a pet.

DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT SEND STRAY ANIMALS HERE, that you care about because all they will do is throw them back outside when we went to them for help and they just gonna throw them back outside, I took a cat there earlier and all they was doing was just fixing them and throwing them right back outside !
