It’s a park, tennis courts are ok. What I found vile was someone walking their dog and the dog urinating on the playground. That was disgusting.

Allens Lane is a fan favorite of mine. From arts and summer programs for myself and now my daughter. A real neighborhood treasure. Descent playground too.

First visit, saw a play. Want to go back and see more of the arts on the first floor.

Went to see the play "Little Women" here last night. It's very small and intimate. You walk in and it feels like a middle school. You won't be sure you are in the right place. Looks like they do pottery classes as well. The cast was fantastic. I think there were a few people here that will go on to do larger productions. If that really is the measure of success. I personally love the stripped down atmosphere. There are not huge set change outs, elaborate costumes, or big band scores. The play relies on the actors ability to evoke emotion and tell a story. This is a very different experience from larger productions and if you live in the area it's the perfect little escape. Get out for a few hours. Support your local playhouse. You can't buy an experience off Amazon. Yet....

We are so fortunate to have a community arts center line ALAC right in our neighborhood! I've been to many plays there, and they always delight. Plus, you can pack a dinner and bring a bottle of wine to enjoy during the production. The ceramics program is excellent and good for all ages and abilities. I was a true beginner when I started classes, and my husband was an experienced potter - great program for both of us. Don't miss the holiday craft sale in December. And if you have children, the summer arts camp is outstanding. If you haven't been there in a while, be sure to check it out.

I sent my grandson to the summer art camp and he loved it! They also have a wonderful pre-camp that starts early for young ones and kids who get out of school early. They also have other great programs like a theater, an art gallery and plenty of great classes. Highly recommended.
