I think this store has cute and appealing merchandise, however, my partner and I were not satisfied with the customer service. The woman at the front counter kept staring at me (A black woman) from the moment I entered the store to when I left. My partner was using their phone to text someone and she got angry with us because she thought we were taking pictures. I am also assuming she thought we were trying to steal. I believe she was racially profiling me and I think that’s really disappointing because I used to love this store. Avoid at all cost.

cute stuff…. but it’s hella overpriced. Plus the atmosphere in there was very unwelcoming as well…the lady who worked there keeps following you around and looking at you, i couldn’t even browse the area without a peace of mind. Like i get that you are making sure no one is stealing but you don’t have to consistently follow your customers and watch them like a hawk??

Cute stuff (but apparently are bootleg and overpriced, as others have noted) but the staff watches you LIKE A HAWK. I mean the lady at the counter was literally bent over almost 90 degrees over the counter to watch while I was browsing through the back of the store. It completely ruined my experience, and I actually would have purchased more but i just wanted to get out of there ASAP because of the staring.

I was looking up things to do in Philadelphia during my brief visit and....the reviews on this store crack me up. For anyone who doesn't know, merchandise like this (Sanrio, rilakkuma/korilakkuma, etc) is going to be pretty pricey anywhere besides Japan. Coming from the Bay Area, the prices here were pretty reasonable. The owner (I'm assuming) was kindly reminding all who came in to hand sanitize as all the guests were touching the items. I ended up picking a cute coin purse I've never seen before of my favorite character from this stop. Tips: * It's a little warm inside so be prepared for that. I was sweating when I left after a quick stop in. * They require ID if you pay with credit card. Highly recommend stopping by if you like cute Japanese wares!

first time there and the staff seemed fine while looking around. my friend was going to buy some stickers with their card but the older shop employee said that there was a $10 minimum. Totally fine, very understandable. Then two teenagers were purchasing $9 worth of product and suddenly there was a $15 dollar minimum for credit..... totally quick changed them.

Really cute store with imported Sanrio goods as well as some other anime/manga stuff such as Studio Ghibli, etc, and stationery. They have a good selection, which just about makes up for the fact that's it's a bit overpriced, but I'd rather pay a bit more to support a local business than get something for cheap online if I can help it. The store owner is very kind and knowledgeable as well! You can find many cute gifts here. If you're a Sanrio fan, especially of more obscure characters, I definitely recommend.

They where so ridiculously rude. The main woman there especially I understand that they want you to use hand sanitizer so I did, but they followed me around the whole store, accused me of stealing, and was rude the whole time. I was going to buy an overpriced Rillakuma plushie but after that that experience I settled for just a sanrio bag to use for room decorating. The woman at the counter didn't even hand the bag to me after I got it just walked away with it on the counter. The store isn't very clean and most of of it is marked up x10 or drop shipped from AliExpress. Overall not even worth it.

The workers watch you like a hawk as if you’re stealing and rudely shout at you to put on hand sanitizer as soon as you enter. Not to mention the items are quite expensive and authenticity is questionable. Wouldn’t come here again.

Very cute and fun store, the store was very clean and the lady who owns it had hand sanitizer for you to use before and after shopping. They had saniro and pusheen items and kids toys for a little bit more then usual but still not or much.

THEY SCAM U!!!I am never going here again, I went with my sister and my friend and when we walked in something was just off in the store idk what it is but when we walked in we all used the hand sanitizer she puts at the door. We were looking around and she's just everywhere we turn, she's always looking at what you're doing and telling you the prices to try and get u to buy stuff. There were these people there and we heard her gasp at the counter which I thought was weird because she already knew the price before checkout but when I checked out I realized she's over charging people, I saw these small charms that I liked and she said they were $10 so I got them and my friend got a small can of pear flavored soda. When we went up to the counter and checked out she said the total was $25 and I'm not sure how that happened considering the can was only a couple dollars and the charms were $10. She also never gave us the receipt and overall it was not worth it at all.

My daughters can’t stop going to this awesome store! Hands-down, the best place in the city for any anime or authentic Sanrio items! The staff are always kind, patient, and helpful. We will definitely be back!

I'm being extremely fair and kind in giving this place a 2, when I think most people have or would give them a 1 star with similar experiences - which I'm glad I read I'm not the only one. I actually have NO IDEA how their rating isn't extremely low.The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because I do feel that things were organized and a bit neat and perhaps clean, so that is always appreciated. Why they won't ever deserve more than 2 is the following:1) As others who have noted, they are extremely rude. The moment you step in the door they immediately shout at you to use hand sanitizer and stare at you while you do it almost like they are just annoyed you walked into the store at all.2) While this may be somewhat understandable, they automatically assume everyone that enters is a thief and will just stare at you the entire time and follow wherever you walk and watch what you do. What a welcome feeling! [Sarcasm]3) I actually happen to understand the language that they were speaking and either they wanted us to hear it or they were ignorant in assuming we would not understand. After only a few minutes of walking around, one of the grumpy old women angrily mutters to the other that we're not here to spend any money and only to waste their time by looking around. At the point that I'm writing this I don't know why I'm not just giving them 1 star, honestly. This in itself was incredibly rude and inappropriate. Also because we actually DID buy something in spite of this to shut them up even though we should have just left right then and there. Or maybe should have shocked them with a response. But they really aren't worth any of my time to have to stoop so low. Incredibly disgusting experience all together.4) They definitely sell bootlegs and knock offs that are 10x overpriced. No joke. There are items you can buy online for less than $1 that they try to sell for $6-$8+.5) They're definitely doing something shady with tax evasion as they will try and ask you to pay for things in cash, probably so they won't have to report it.I'd never come back to this place with such terrible people running the store. Besides, there is no justification for selling things 10x their price that as some people have already mentioned, are just being resold from Daiso stores and others that you can buy online for much, much cheaper. Yuck.

I’ve gone in here with my daughter a few times. Each time I’m made to feel like I’m stealing from the moment I walk in. They watch people like starving hawks waiting to eat. Everything in the store is old looking, dusty and extremely overpriced. Basically they have dollar store quality items and have them priced as if it’s authentic and good quality. Go anywhere but here
