I just came back from the Baroque Plus concert in St. James Church. I think Astral Artists have a lot going for them. My major issues with Astral Artists is the length of the concert and its selection of music. The concert dragged on for 90 minutes. Also, their theme of music was a bit confusing last night with a bit of baroque followed by modern music played by baroque instruments. If you are like me and listen to alot of classical CDs, you appreciate the simplicity of music selection and brevity with others like PCMS, Chamber Orch of Phila, and Phila Orch. Overall, I really liked the Bach pieces and wished there was more of it. When you add it with some other odds and ends, then you get more "Plus" than the "Baroque".
