About Big Cat Falls
Big Cat Falls at the Philadelphia Zoo is a very fun and spectacular place, considered one of the best spots in the zoo. It is a tremendous and extraordinary exhibit, a feline fan’s paradise where visitors can see majestic Amur tigers, sleek leopards, regal African lions, and cougars. Guests can witness these incredible creatures up close, even seeing a lion or tiger walk above them. The animal encounters are memorable and awe-inspiring. The enclosures are big enough and enriching for the cats, mimicking their natural environments. However, one or two enclosures sometimes do not have animals in them, as the lions, tigers, and leopards share an enclosure and cycle in and out throughout the day. During warm weather, the cats can be a little sluggish. The experience includes engaging activities like keeper talks and feedings, offering educational opportunities. There is also a tremendous African Safari Theater experience with an inspiring narrated performance. The staff at the zoo are excellent, helpful, and friendly. Some areas could use improvement, including clearer communication about closures, as some attractions may be under renovation or closed. The food situation can be a letdown, with some stands closed and basic accommodations like cups or straws sometimes lacking. Despite these minor frustrations, it remains a wonderful, enjoyable, and great destination for a roaring adventure.

Spectacular place, it’s really something seeing a lion or tiger casually walk above you. Really amazing. I wish I were able to take better photos but it’s something you have to see if you are in the Philadelphia area.
