Such a great find! The bulgogi lunch sandwich was delicious and pretty filling. And my matcha latte was chefs kiss. I stayed here for almost 4 hours with my friends just eating, drinking, and getting work done. Has a nice, cozy atmosphere!

Stopped in after a doctor's appointment to grab some breakfast. It's easy to walk by the place and not realize it's there. The service was slow but friendly. They have a really nice seating area upstairs. Lots of sun and artwork. I had a toffee nut latte which was disappointing. The espresso was burned and the latte didn't have much flavor. The bagel sandwich on the otherhand was delicious! A nice soft everything bagel with real egg and sausage. Very tasty. I will probably try it again at some point to give the coffee another shot.

Staff are friendly, they always say good morning and are helpful if you have any questions with the menu. The breakfast sandwiches (specifically the Bulgogi, Egg, and Cheese - probably one of the top in Philly) are really good. The sitting area upstairs is very pleasant. Would recommend Cafe Walnut to anyone.

Yummy place near Washington Square. The service is great and there is an upstairs seating area with big windows. Lovely vibes, would recommend stopping by for a sweet drink and some food!

A nice little cafe near Washington Square. Korean and American breakfast/lunch food. Bulgogi, egg, and cheese--about as close to getting a Philly cheesesteak for breakfast, without actually getting a cheesesteak for breakfast. $0.60 credit card fee, which is mentioned on a sign at the register. Biggest downside: their storefront is confusing. They have two entrances. You wouldn't know it by looking at it, but you're supposed to use the basement entrance to get to the ordering area.

I really enjoyed my experience here at Cafe Walnut. The outside of the store seems pretty unassuming ( I can see why people may have had trouble finding the store, but I didn't have any issues myself). You order downstairs, and there is a pretty spacious seating area upstairs. I liked the area a lot and found it comfortable and good to work in. I also enjoyed the latte I got. The staff was friendly! I was intrigued by their smoothies and sandwiches so the next time I come by here I'll definitely give those a try.

I was not allowed to go upstairs before ordering and was asked to leave. Came here the day before and was able to put my belongings down before ordering before it was busy. I was asked to leave and feel very confused about why since I was there the day before to work.

Cafe Walnut is truly a wonderful hidden gem! I stumbled upon this cafe for lunch and enjoyed it very much! It incorporates Korean flavors with American breakfast and lunch sandwiches! For example, it'll use bulgogi or spicy pork instead of a breakfast sausage or lunch meat in a sandwich (which is a better option). They also do bibimbap bowls as well which I'll have to get next time! I ordered a bulgogi breakfast sandwich on a sesame bun and a bulgogi lunch sandwich on a croissant. Both were very good especially for the price! The bulgogi has a subtle bulgogi flavor. When I ordered the breakfast sandwich, the cheese, egg, and bagel masked the flavor of the bulgogi. I wish the bulgogi had a stronger flavor. Regardless, it's still one of the best sandwiches I've had in Philly! I will definitely be back. The cafe has plenty of seating! It has large ceilings and windows to make the space feel open. The decorated the cafe with art and Korean furnishing which makes the cafe a cool place to study. The employees taking my order were polite and they all seemed like they enjoyed working together. I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!

What a find! The irregular steps to the basement leads to a cozy cafe space and bright eating area upstairs. Don’t miss the board of photos of local dog friends! ? Had breakfast, but would like to come back for the lunch menu.
