Very disappointing experience with this daycare. When my child suffered a fracture during summer camp, the school did not notify me at all, and later they pushed the responsibility onto the child, saying that it was because the child didn’t tell the teachers. This is unacceptable.
In addition, front desk staff repeatedly treated me unfairly. Even when I arrived earlier than other parents, they gave the pick-up cards to others first, leaving me last. When I raised my concern directly, the staff denied seeing me, even though we clearly made eye contact several times, and responded disrespectfully while looking at her phone.
Parents deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, this daycare failed to provide that.

Our baby currently attends children’s village, since 15 mos, and we cannot speak more highly of a program in the Philly area. Not only do they have a dietary program that is filled with nutritious, culturally diverse foods, but the teachers there are like handing your child off to a second family. My daughter LOVES her teachers, they give us daily updates, and her curriculum is always changing and age progressive. The cost and flexibility of the hours are fantastic, but the best thing of all? Knowing that you can safely and loving use your Children’s Village community to foster growth, love, and independence.

My son came home with a black eye and I was furious when I asked the teachers what had happened and they didn't even know I don't think anyone should come here!

CV provides excellent care and instruction. We were very happy with our experience there, and our child enjoyed going as well.

This is an extraordinary Early childcare institution! Everyone in there genuinely cares about the kids! my daughter has been going to CV since she turned 3, and the past few years, her changes were crazy! We are heading to a private school after this, only because CV does not have K or above now! She will for sure miss the fun and extensive meals in CV too, from Mongolian lamb to curry braised beef or chicken, all sorts of veggies and more. She thrived in CV despite all her allergies. We can not thank Children’s village enough, for how much love they’ve given our little girl and would definitely recommend anyone in the city of Philadelphia to consider putting your name down!!

We loved our experience at Children's Village. Our daughter loved it, there was obvious care, interest and insight into meeting her needs, and always a positive and welcoming energy from staff at all levels. Plus, there are a lot of extra's that they do to connect and support the whole parenting process. Can't recommend it enough.

My daughter just concluded two years of pre-K at Children’s Village and had an absolutely excellent experience. Its programs and educators are high quality, and the entire school community—including staff and students—are diverse, caring, and welcoming. And after two years, my entire family feels not like customers but as members of a family. I have to give the staff extra credit for carefully navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic—balancing the need for in-person instruction with the challenges of keeping everyone safe and healthy. Children’s Village is a shining example of what early childhood education should be, and I cannot recommend the school enthusiastically enough.

Children's Village is a truly wonderful school. I am so lucky to have had such a kind, caring, supportive, and creative school. The teachers and staff are loving and the teaching is fun, engaging, and culturally responsive. The school is truly set up to support working families from a wide variety of backgrounds. This makes life so much easier, and also creates a fabulously diverse learning environment. I could not ask for a better school.

My whole family loves Children’s Village! I can’t say enough good things about them. Between my two children we attended children’s village for 7 years. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and caring. There is very little turnover. The staff really makes you feel a part of the children’s village family and the teachers foster a sense of community in the classroom. There is diversity in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, culture, and age. The staff fosters inclusion and acceptance. The kitchen is amazing and my children enjoyed culturally diverse, healthy food. Also, both of my children developed a love for learning at an early age and the education there is top notch. They consistently talk about missing their time there. On top of all that, the staff and teachers fight for positive early childhood education policies in local, state and national arenas. I wouldn’t consider sending my children anywhere else!

If you're looking for thoughtful and nurturing, I can't recommend CV highly enough. Incredible teachers, great community. CV is a highly credentialed non-profit. It doesn't always have the gloss of a for-profit center, but they treat their staff well, and have an in-house kitchen that cooks meals for hundreds of kids daily. The kids and staff are ethnically & socioeconomically diverse. A great thing about CV is that they make good use of the city around them, taking to the kids to spots like Franklin Square, Independence Mall, the fire station, even Reading Terminal in better times.

Children’s Village is an outstanding childcare program that all children deserve. My daughter began attending at 16 months and right away she learned a variety of self-care and social skills. The teachers are nurturing and kind and many have been with CV for decades. The school has a kitchen and the kids get a healthy, diverse menu. This is a real school that uses evidence based practices, and has well-trained staff who are passionate about early childhood education. I am very lucky to have found CV for my family!

I have two children who both began attending Children's Village when they were a year old. They continued on through preschool, and one has been enrolled in the afterschool care program there. From our initial intake interview we've been very happy. The teachers and staff are warm and caring, and my children have always loved to go there each day. Check out the staff listings on their website--many of the staff have been at CV for decades (!), something few other child care centers can boast. The school is professionally run, being NAEYC accredited and receiving the highest Keystone STARS rating, and they clearly stay on top of the latest research in child development and pedagogy. Mr. Matt and his team prepare nutritious food on site, which both our kids rave about, and the team is very accommodating and careful about food allergies. At least before the pandemic, preschoolers got neat field trips like pumpkin-picking and the Academy of Natural Sciences. Kids get regular access to the CV library, play deck, and Franklin Square, and in the afterschool program there’s lots of enrichment, like putting on plays and doing science experiments, as well as outdoor time, a healthy afterschool meal, and homework help. The school even offers interesting programming in the evenings for families, including things like family game night and segments with the developmental psychologist, Dr. Wolf, who always has great insights on understanding what's normal (and not) as ours kids age.If you join CV, you're really joining a family. We've made lifelong friendships with other families we met at the school, and we know the teachers and staff look out for our kids as if they were their own. As a working mom, it's critical to me to have a safe, fun place for my kids to learn and grow, and CV consistently delivers.
