CVS on Cumberland street had the nastiest tech on the phone. I would never set foot in that store again

I have been coming to this CVS for over 30 years and have never had problems. Since April 2025. There are two employees a pharmacist and an employee who are very disrespectful. I feel discriminated against. They constantly put my medicine back or are charging me for my medication which is covered by my insurance. I already filed a complaint against CVS. These people have no respect for anyone. If this is happening to anyone call your insurance before paying anything. I filed a grievance with my insurance so they know what is happening at this location.

If I could rate this CVS Pharmacy zero stars I would. A majority of the pharmacy staff (not everyone) are unnecessarily rude. I completely understand today’s healthcare system climate as I am a Registered nurse, however when staff say things like “I stuck my neck out for you” twice in a row when performing routine job tasks it makes for an unwelcoming environment. The task in question was reprocessing a prescription that was previously denied by insurance that I was going to pay for out of pocket, that had later been approved the following week. Today following having surgery, I was informed that the pain medication I was prescribed was not in stock, not a big deal completely understandable, however I was told they would not be reaching out to my prescriber to inform them of this. I was also told that they only order enough of this medication to provide for patients that are routinely prescribed this medication. Now I primarily use this pharmacy, I am a routine customer, just not for this medication at hand and I don’t believe that a pharmacy should order medication in this regard. I believe it is a disservice to sick individuals and that they should make such practices aware to their customers because I would much rather give my business to another company that places caring for individuals in their time of need at the forefront of their business model.

Risk it all to go here
If you make it past the people doing dope and asking for money outside you’ll see “workers” but won’t be greeted or given any help. The store is also filthy inside and not kept up with at all

I dont know what was up with ya’ll July 1st 2025. There were available cashiers but I was directed to self checkout with over 20 plus items. The machines were janky literally taped with duct tape to keep them from sliding apart. The inside of machines were exposed. I was at checkout paying for food and regular items separate cashier comes over to help because machine kept glitching and in the midst proceeded to ask my child for her toy she came in with and a hoolah hoop that I was in the process of paying for. That is uncalled for and creepy to ask a small child for her toy that she came in with assuming it was from the store and for a hoolah hoop that I was in the process of paying for. You don’t go up to anyone’s child asking for nothing you ask a parent. I was right there that was creepy and weird and sneaky. Cashier also smelled bad. CVS was Represented poorly that night. Y’all need to get your stuff together I’m sure this company is a million dollar company fix your self check out machines. Why do they have duct tape on them? and get your employees to take a bath? Don’t ignore that!
employees also need better training. Don’t come up to the little kids assuming that their toys is from the store Especially if they’re at self check out everyone is not a thief.

Hit or miss here. I hate that stores lock everything up when there aren’t even enough workers on shift to open the cases!
Several of the cases have doors that jam too… so the workers leave you to try and fit your hand in to pull items out rather than helping you themselves :(
A few are nice and actually assist you, but others are super rude and you can tell they despise that job.

Worst customer service. Barely anyone works in here. Pharmacy is always a long ass wait with incompetent staff who can’t find anything. I don’t know why I even come here anymore.

By far the worst CVS pharmacy section I have ever used. I have my rx sent electronically to three CVS stores, it depends on where I am on the city at the time. Every single time I have an issue with a rx it is this store! Its awful and I know alot of elderly people frequent this location. I hope they are not dealing with the same issues me and other reviewers are dealing with.

In an era of terrible customer service, the associates at this store are very helpful and approachable. Even the security guard was helpful and friendly. It's nice to visit a store like that. I will shop here often.

This pharmacy is the closest one to my home so naturally it’s my preferred location and the one on file with various doctor’s office. I had an issue refilling an ongoing prescription due to personal travel. It took 4 days of continuous calling to finally get through to the pharmacy. If you go in person more often than not the pharmacy is also severely understaffed. There is the drive thru pickup window, plus phone calls and in-person drop offs and pickups. It shouldn’t take this much effort just to get through to the pharmacy. In addition CVS automated system is horrendous. It takes you through 2-3 menus before you’re able to select the right reason for your call. I’m so exhausted by how much time and effort it takes to have anyone answer the phone.

everyone here is extremely helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and kind. darrell, nancy, charles, ray, chris, i really can go on. security guards are absolutely attentive and helpful. jay, brandon and donovan you’re the best and thank you for always keeping employees and customers safe. pharmacy employees are extremely helpful and kind, big shout out to derek and jamal. this is a tough location, making theft and dangerous situations a hotspot when it comes to cvs, but with what everyone has available, they do an amazing job. it’s easy to shop here when the employees, leaders and overall staff of the store care. thank you all!!
