I have genuine concerns about the sanitation and food safety of this restaurant. While waiting in line i saw a food worker sneeze into her hands and then continue making a sandwich without washing her hands or removing her gloves. Needless to say we did not eat here. I have a friend that also found hair in her sandwich last week! Don't eat here!!

Di Bruno's is a Philly legend. They sell top-notch ingredients at top-notch prices. They also do one of the best Italian pork sandwiches in the city. But this review is about the foccacia sandwich I bought today: Abbruzzo Amore (apologies for bad spelling). This thing was huge! It was also made right in front of me from fresh ingredients. There's no doubt about it, it's a work of art; it's also exactly as described. Now I can't work out whether it's amazingly good, or awful. Hear me out.Firstly, the bread is made there and, as you can see in the photo, is fresh and oozes oil - it's foccacia - arguably it's supposed to.Secondly the ingredients are high quality, in large portions, but the ensemble is so rich and creamy (and huge) that eating the whole thing feels like asserting yourself to be the fat greedy westerner that the rest of the world despairs about.Thirdly it costs $15, hich is not overpriced considering the size and the ingredients IMO... but could they not do a $7 version at half the size? Maybe I would walk away feeling less oily and stuffed. It's a terrific sandwich. And also gross. See the problem?

Focacceria, their new sandwich concept, is one for the ages! Great quality meats, cheeses, and spreads -- with impeccable made to order service! The sandwiches are reasonably priced for their size, be prepared to share with a friend or take some as a leftover home.

I guess the farther you get from South 9th street, the less authentic things become. I ordered a spicy Italian hoagie this afternoon. First bite, something clearly wrong. Culprit? Mayo! Like I said, clearly wrong.

Waited at the counter to order, white male walks up after me (I'm not white). He's asked if he needed help. I said something to the lady behind the counter that I was there first....heard excuses. Won't be going back.

Ordered matcha and I got horrible tasting matcha. Bland ... tasted like dry grass. Don't get this drink. I ask if it's supposed to taste that way no hint of sweetness at all. I was told yes it's supposed to taste that way. Helloooo, matcha is one of my favorite drink I know how it should taste. Well anyway, I asked if i can get chai latte instead, thanks heavens they allowed me to do that without paying again. That I give them 3 stars. DONT ORDER MATCHA LATTE... tastes horrible, you might as well boil dead grass from your lawn and add half and half. That will be a waste of your $6.00

Staff was friendly and made my sandwich quickly and without error. Glad this place is finally open again post-pandemic. Great for a quick lunch break during the workday.

I visited Philadelphia 2 months ago, couldn't wait to go back here. I was very disappointed. The food went downhill. Service, slow. Won't be going back.

Apologized for offering free food to local law enforcement, disgraceful business, will never shop here again.
