Helpful staff with flexible options. This location is great but beware of the city taxes and fees.

I used this location for my car rentals for many years, but not anymore. I've often had issues with getting a car in the vehicle class I booked despite confirming with a staffer by phone that they'd have the car. The latest time this happened (about two weeks ago) the staffer who checked me out was so rude I won't be back. He began to check me out with the type of vehicle I'd reserved, then suddenly said it wasn't in the inventory and moved me to something else which was not in the class I booked. When I objected, he said not to make it his problem because it was his first week on the job, and that if I wanted the car I booked, then I should've gone to the airport location. He was visibly annoyed with me, but I was about to make a long drive to a funeral, so I didn't have the time or bandwidth to argue or ask for a manager. When he handed me the keys, he said "I know you have insurance but don't crash the car." That was his goodbye. Yikes! Could just be one bad employee, but I don't want to risk another run-in like that. Traveling is stressful enough as it is. When I returned the car the next day, I saw another customer returning the same car that I had been refused. I wrote privately to Enterprise customer service about the experience, but it was ignored, so I'll warn the locals. Avoid this place.

They charge too many unexpected prices. Better to rent somewhere else unless you want unexpected charges.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Had items in the vehicle and they stated that “there were no items in the vehicle” and I’ve been going back and forth with them for over 4 weeks because either the tow driver or someone at their repair facility stole my personal items and company property which was left in the vehicle. Stick with hertz

I reserved a luxury sedan online, and did the pre-booking. Everything seemed so nice and easy until I got a call later in the day saying that they did not have the car that I had already reserved. That was very lame. I still decided to rent a nice SUV, and that went smoothly. A HUGE shout out to Sally at the Washington Street location. She made the pickup and drop-off process super easy. She was very professional and with a smile, she was very knowledgeable, and she took care to provide the best service. She should be a manager, in my opinion. She was just that good. 5 stars to Sally. 3.5 stars to Enterprise as a whole.

Hired a Nissan Rougue for a week. Great car but stank of cigarette smoke. Sprayed febreeze all over but smell did not go away. Told staff member when I returned it who said "we're really sorry about that". Also, no washer fluid. I don't think I will be using Enterprise any more.

60 min to pick up a car after reserving and completing online info in advance. 20 min of that was their insistence I provide my car insurance policy number or I would have to take their coverage. I was out of state with 3 hour difference so calling my agent 6am their time was out of the question. I had to downloaded an insurance app to somehow find my policy number then suddenly it was not required anymore and I got the car with just an initialed wavier (like every other time I rented). 20 min delay to my travel cause they wanted to force me into buying their insurance when I did not need it. Never going here again.

I'm really angry. They gave me a car with no turn signals. By the time I found out I was at my Job which was a straight shot. Then I called to have tow pickup car because I don't get off from work until late. I wasn't about to drive home with no turn signals! Enterprise roadside lied about pick up time.! As I'm typing this I'm sitting out side at 1030pm! I'm so angry! Tomorrow I have to go get another car which means I have to take time out from my job! I will lose 2 hours pay for this!!!😡😡😡😡

The people at this particular location are absolutely lovely, have no problems with them whatsoever. HOWEVER, my sister got a flat tire on her drive and based on their behavior the roadside assistance people should all be fired and banned from working in the service industry. I am aghast at their behavior to both me and my sister. I will be looking into other options for renting a car in the future so I never have to risk calling enterprise roadside assistance again.

The car was fine, but pickup was unpleasant. The first person I spoke to when I checked in was nice and confirmed the details of my reservation, including the cost. Then an associate took me out to look at cars and kept trying to upsell me to a car that was $18/day more than my reservation quote (for a 15 day reservation so lol no). I told her it was just me and my dog so I didn't need a bigger car. She then said "well, we don't have much available in the class you reserved," in a way that implied that I had to either agree to pay more money or be left without a car. I just stared right back at her because no way was I falling for that. She went back inside and made a big show out of talking to someone about how I wouldn't pay for an upgrade, at which point she was told to just give me the car they had available for the rate in my reservation. She was clearly unhappy about it. So just keep in mind that they're probably going to try to scam you into agreeing to pay more and don't fall for it.

Update 7/2024: still the same vibe. I think we've now rented so often (having a kid and grandparents outside the city will do that to you, I guess!) that all the employees know my face/name, haha. Once or twice I have gotten a car that smells like weed. This is the reason we stopped renting from 30th Street because it was constant there but at Enterprise it's infrequent. I haven't been bothered by it enough to try switching cars but I'm sure they'd do it if I asked. This past rental there was a bit of damage to the bumper of the car I was returning (thanks Philly neighbors!!) and being uninsured as I don't own a car, I use my AmEx benefit for insurance and it was quick to submit a form online and then I was on my way since the damage was so small that Enterprise didn't ask for any kind of deposit/deductible from me. Turns out they were able to fix the car so quick and cheaply they told me to cancel the claim. Huzzah. Anyway -- team is still great here! Oh, and if you are married your spouse is allowed to drive the car. You don't need to do anything special/have them added. Anyone else needs to come in person to be added. (The person who helped us at the time of my review below was probably newer and didn't know that is what happened.)
Original review:
I've rented from Enterprise a couple times in the past year, usually for day trips but sometimes a long weekend. My husband and I live in the city and don't own a car so whenever we want to go outside the city and public transit or a Lyft isn't convenient/economical, we rent a car (couple times a year).
I always reserve a car online first. Lately, inventory seems low but luckily I have been able to maneuver pickup/dropoff times or dates to be able to use this location (closest walk to where we live). This past time, I reserved the car maybe a week in advance for a Sunday pickup at 10am and had no inventory issues.
Picking up the car took about 45 minutes. This location is aaaaalways slammed in the morning on the weekends because of their shorter hours I guess. We arrived around 10:05 and we were maybe 2nd or 3rd in line. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for an employee to address us and the rest of the time was just waiting for a car to be cleaned. Kind of disappointing considering we reserved in advance, but this seems common for any rental location in the city with any rental company other than 30th street station. Plan ahead! Our plans started at 11:45 after a 30-minute drive and picking up some quick breakfast so we reserved the car for 10am and it turned out to be perfect timing.
Once the car was cleaned, we did the car inspection. Sometimes we do this, sometimes we don't. It seems to depend on how busy they are or how much of a hurry I'm in. No major issues, so we seemed like we were ready to go.
Alas, I had asked for my husband to be added as a driver and noted it should be free since we are married. The employee wasn't sure how to do this on his tablet so we had to go inside. After about 5 minutes and some help from Mary, he got us set up and we were FINALLY good to go.
The car was a Nissan Sentra and did okay! It got stuck in the snow once or twice as we had to park on the street a couple times but otherwise it got us from A to B, C, and D and then back to A again so it got the job done.
Returning took about 10 minutes or so - another bit of a wait because there was a guy ahead of me and I arrived first thing Monday morning when they were busy trying to clean yesterday's cars. I didn't want to get stuck paying for parking so I was sure to get the car off the street by 8am, haha. Enterprise had just opened at 7:30. After a quick inspection I was all set and walked off the lot.
Overall - a standard experience and I'll keep coming back because of the convenient location and the staff is ALWAYS friendly despite always being so

Great customer service except I had to keep and pay for extra days because you are unable to return the car on off hours

Customer Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. I didn't have to wait for my vehicle and the car was clean. The whole process was seamless. Good job Enterprise and associates!
