Annoying for rich hipsters, couldn't find a simple item after being given bad advice from the few employees I could find. Wanted to get tacos but at 5.30 at night the speciality food counters were closed. Overpriced and when I confronted the employee they offered a lackadaisical attitude and no apology. I should have gone to Walmart. I dont live or work in this part of center city so I won't bother coming backFOR ALL THAT IS HOLY, PHILLY NEEDS A WEGMANS!!!

I truly detest these niche Giant stores being placed within the city. They are small, poorly designed, and cater almost specifically to the "anti-grocery store" demographic. A very limited selection of shelf stable goods, an ever growing vegan and vegetarian selection, an expensive specialty butcher, otherwise minimal selection of meat and fish. Everything seems ten times more expensive and their sale offerings are small. Too much of the footprint of the store is beer and liquor or "specialty" departments.

Today I decided to buy a 21 day dry aged T-bone steak from the butcher counter at giant. I wish I had taken a photo but I never realized it would be one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. I’m typically a ribeye guy but this cut was amazing. The fat melted in your mouth and the steak was 1.5 inches thick so the meat was perfect at mid rare.

I'm trying REALLY hard to like this place because the selection is good.Last time I went to the self checkout, I flagged down an employee and pointed out that my cat litter was coming up as 8.99 instead of the advertised 7.49 sale. I'd been buying this for weeks at this price. She said to scan everything, and the discount would come off at the end. It didn't (I already knew this wasn't how it worked), so I flagged her down again. She scanned the litter with her device and said, "Naw, it's 8.99. I don't see no discount on it." I said there was a tag on the shelf with 7.49. She ignored me and went back over to her coworkers and looked right at me while complaining about me. So, I went back to the shelf on my own and took a photo of the price and came back and showed her. She said only a manager could do refunds, and there was no manager at the time, so I needed to keep the receipt and the photo and come back when there was a manager to get my 1.50.Today I had a cashier ring up my cat litter, milk, butter, and eggs. Four items, $23 worth of stuff. That's what I saw as I put in my payment. As I was walking away and looking at the receipt, I saw that the total was over $28 and there was "PREPARED FOODS 4PC CHKN." Huh? I waited and asked the guy what this was, and he just sort of pointed down the line to another station. The manager had it taken off. No explanation as to why this was there. Was I buying this guy's lunch?Maybe train employees to do price checks, not to be rude to customers' faces, and you know, don't blatantly rip me off?

A lot of variety, will most likely be able to find everything you’re looking for food wise! When checking out they definitely aren’t as courteous as Trader Joe’s though. The beer and outdoor area are nice to eat at and highly underutilized. Prices are decent and they can occasionally have great deals. I recommend for weekly shopping.

It was my first time shopping there and I was in a rush so I didn't get to see the whole store, but they didn't have as many options as I would like in some of the sections that I visited. I was disappointed that they didn't have some of my favorite products that I always find at other grocery stores. My favorite thing about the store though was the quality of the produce. Even the most beat up apples that they had were in very good shape, and the same with the bananas. I wish that all produce could be so fresh and undamaged. That alone makes me like the store. They also have a system to scan things as you put them in your cart to save time at checkout. I didn't get to use it this time but it sounds like it's potentially a really nice tool.

Everytime I come to the Havertown Giant, I am aggravated! The scanners arent working, the scales dont work, the inventory is low, theres trash in the parking lot, not enough cashiers, even Giant direct sold me cheesecake that expired 2 months ago! I dont know why I torture myself coming here. I should have stopped at the Springfield Giant! Cannot wait till Drexeline opens.

Far and away the best grocery store I have ever been to in the Center City area. Immaculately clean and so much variety. I was beyond amazed at how great a store this is and on top of everything the prices are substantially better than Acme's. Great job Giant, give yourself a pat on the back.

It is hard to believe I am reviewing a grocery store, however, this Giant is far from a simple grocery store. Yes, it has all the groceries you might need. However, it also a small foot court of offerings, a wall of beer taps, a great outdoor patio to relax on, and free parking (well, I think only the 1st hour or 2 is free). Come for their sushi specials on Wednesday night ($5 rolls)!
