Made reservation for 10am and coming here we have to check in again to wait in the line now it’s 3:13pm and still telling us they are waiting for the cars to be ready, there’s only 1 guy doing many tasks, and we spoke to the manager he said he’s working for a solution at the meantime I see lot of ppl putting 1 star since long time ago but what we see is they didn’t take no action

I'm really disappointed and wish I could give zero stars, but that's not possible. The experience was awful, with terrible staff and customer service. Do not go here, and do not rent with Hertz. Period. We rented a car from Hertz at JFK for a funeral that we were attending in Philadelphia. The staff at JFK told us to return the car to the Essington Ave location by 8PM. Essington Ave was supposed to be one of the Philly locations that was open later which would accommodate our return time. We got there at 7PM, right after the funeral, and it was closed.Trying to solve this, we called Hertz customer service and finally got through after an hour to a call center in the Philippines, but they were no help and told us to return the car the next morning. The next morning was tough as we had to cremate my friend's dad. We returned the car at noon. When we explained everything to Sam at Hertz, she showed no empathy, didn't try to help, and charged us for an extra day because “we didn't return the car in the morning.” Insensitive, unprofessional, and everything you don’t want to encounter in any business.I am sorry we couldn’t reschedule the cremation, Sam.It's frustrating that there was no understanding of our situation. Especially when we did everything we were supposed to do and followed the instructions of Hertz staff. I suggest avoiding Hertz altogether. Also, watch how a pathetic bot will respond to me here and offer a generic apology!

You have to wait extremely to long, never have no cars, and give you a car that need service, then you can't even swap it out, because they say it's no cars available

I had one of the worst customer service experiences globally with Sam, the manager, at Hertz. Here’s what happened:I rented a car from the JFK Hertz location, with my rental confirmation stating a return time of 8 PM. However, upon arriving at 7 PM, I found the location already closed. The following morning was particularly challenging for me, as I had to cremate my father who had recently passed away. Consequently, I couldn’t return the car first thing in the morning but managed to get there by noon. After waiting patiently for a while, Sam assured me that someone would assist me shortly. When I finally spoke to a clerk and explained my situation, I was informed that there had been a mistake and that the JFK Hertz branch actually closes at 6 PM, not 8 PM. I requested for the late return fee to be waived given the circumstances. The clerk attempted to accommodate my request, offering to waive 1-2 hours of the fee. However, when I pushed for the entire day’s fees to be waived, the clerk consulted Sam again. To my dismay, Sam’s response was to deny any waiver and instead insisted on charging me for the entire day, justifying this by stating that I hadn’t arrived ‘first thing in the morning.’This treatment was not only insensitive given my personal circumstances but also contradicted the initial information provided by Hertz.

The girls in this office are magnificent! They waited for me to come in and help me out. It was a Saturday and they got to leave early but they waited for me and they helped me. That's what I call customer service and beyond

Terrible experience. Rented car thru Uber and was given a car with a pushed in brake light. Was ttold to call a certain number to extend my rental with the company and once I did that is when the real problems began. They were taking my money weekly but then telling me after 3 weeks that my card wasn’t processing on their end due to a glitch. Then after taking my money they’ve requested me to pay them double the weekly payment. I’ll never want to experience hertz again

I came here with my fiancée to get him an uber rental. We were there for about two hours almost waiting on our reservation. The area for Uber drivers was filled with customers. There were only about 2 employees helping the whole crowd. They NEED more employees to get things running quicker. It is very poor business practice to have all of us waiting like this when we all made reservations. The car we ended up getting had scratches and damage all over it. Thankfully, an employee named Henry was fantastic at helping us get pictures of everything before leaving. He was very patient with us and took his time to make sure all of my fiancée’s concerns were addressed. I really appreciated his full attention on us even though he had other customers waiting on him after us. The car was very dusty on the inside. You can tell they do not clean them properly. I can’t believe they also charge full price when the car has so much damage on it. Henry is the only reason I added an extra star for this review. I hope this gets seen by management and he can get some recognition for his kindness and hard work. He is a true gem in that place! There are tons of bad reviews for this location on Google and I’m surprised corporate has not taken action to make things better. They probably don’t care because they are still getting their money at the end of the day.

I want to thank everyone at this location for being one of the only Hertz Rental locations that have been truly HELPFUL. I encountered a few issues during my rental process and at each turn the associates were diligent in finding resourceful solutions. I was there today and met with kindness, understanding and eagerness to resolve my issues, which I had not encountered from any of the other locations within Alexandria, Towson, or DC. They are one of the few locations where you can have someone reach out to another site to see to it that things get done, they have a real “can do” attitude and I truly believe this should be celebrated! You don’t encounter a lot of people who have valuable customer service in the sevice sector now a days. But, I’m not sure who will see this or read this but Hertz you all need to value the traits of the people at this location. Kudos and much appreciation!

This rental site is pushing out more electric vehicles, and phasing out all gas vehicles. The establishment is committed to offer electric vehicles only for renting. Minimum required is at least 400-700, depending on short or long range rental. The only issue is that 30-40% of Philadelphia EV chargers at the few gas stations are either broken, or low-charge, so have a place pre-planned to charge. Also, have your rentals inspected, as broken/uncharged batteries are a common hazard with electric cars, and they may have you drive off with an undercharged battery. No vehicles whatsoever for big people, and rideshare drivers who live in Philly run the risk of being robbed

Worse experience and waste of time. Wasted money on uber to get there and get back because I made a reservation and they didn't have any of the cars available that I was paying for. Customer service horrible. They made me walk to the wrong side of the building and then told me go back to the complete opposite side. They told me sit in a seat and I sat there. Then nobody said anything to me for like 20 minutes. Then a worker asked me what Im here for. I told them a rental. I wish I read these reviews before I made a reservation here. Employees dont care. It was several upset customers with their own unique situations telling workers that they were upset and they couldnt care less. Something told me to make my reservation further away but I didn’t. Im surprised they have not gotten new management or employees. It was a circus back there. Wish I could give 0 stars. Do not recommend.

Attention Uber drivers: It was my first time trying to rent tesla from the Uber account. I had a worse experience. THE MANAGER is rude. She doesn't care about anything. Not helping at all. She tried to give me a flat tire vehicle. I asked them to change the car, and she told me she doenst have a car and she told me changing the tire would take 1 hr. My question is on the window it flat dates 7 24. Why are you giving me a flat car before? Why did the check before giving it to me. After all, she decided not to give me the car, and I lost my other 1 hr total 3 hours. I will not come back here again to rent it. WORSE CUSTOMER EXPERINCE EVER! HERTZ NEEDS TO STEP UP THEIR GAME! ASAP!
