Hung up on several times, only to be told we don't offer the service you are trying to inquire about it. Someone named Andre said that I wanted an Oil Change, when my call was in regards to a splash shield.

Initially I just felt stupid but now as almost 24 hours have gone by since getting my car back I feel cheated and intentionally mislead. I rarely ever go to chain mechanic shops, but seeing as this was a simple procedure I decided to give Midas a chance. HUGE mistake on my part. I dropped my car off on Wednesday 2/6 to get simple state emissions and safety inspections and was told I would have my car back the next day by 5pm. The following day (Thursday 2/7) I received a phone call from Midas and was told that I would need a new tie rod to pass the safety inspection. This was a fix that I had been anticipating since my usual mechanic had told me this would need to be done soon. I asked how much money this would cost me and I was told "around $300 but we offer financing with zero interest for 90 days." I thought, ok perfect. I can pay $100 a month for 3 months and have this paid off. I was also told that I would need my lightbulbs above my license plate replaced and that they would be $1.99 each plus $10 for labor. I told them to make these repairs as they sounded affordable and I would need them to pass my inspection. I assumed I would be paying around $600 total with the cost of these parts, inspection, and labor. Upon arriving that evening to pick up my car my bill was $1,958. I was in complete shock and didn't say anything because I honestly felt incredibly stupid but looking back now I'm not sure why I didn't open my mouth. Additional repairs were done to my car that I did NOT approve of. The full price of the estimate was NOT given to me on the phone. Again, when I asked how much these repairs would cost I was quoted around $300!!!! Upon looking at the bill I see he meant $300 PER EACH TIE ROD, PLUS the same price for labor. NONE of this was quoted to me on the phone. I drive a 2012 Chevrolet sonic that has 198,000 miles on it and has major cosmetic damages. My car is worse less than what I was charged for repairs and the employees at Midas absolutely knew that, yet still went through with these repairs without being upfront about the total price. Had I known the total price I would have said not to do the repairs. I am a young, single, teacher working two jobs just to get by. With the cost of rent, utilities, student loans, and the generally high cost of living I am constantly struggling with finances and being able to support myself independently. I even joked to the worker (Mike) on the phone about only having $100 to my name. I GENUINELY HAVE NO IDEA HOW I WILL EVER PAY THIS OFF, ESPECIALLY BEFORE THE 90 DAYS IS UP AND THE INCREDIBLY HIGH INTEREST RATE SETS IN!!!!!!! If for some reason you ever do business with this SCAM of a mechanics shop be sure to be VERY specific when asking how much your repairs will cost or else they will choose to just say the price of one item. This is an INCREDIBLY misleading practice and I am now stuck with a debt that I have no idea how I will ever pay off for a car that is worth probably $1,500. Congrats, Mike and Midas, on fucking over a trusting customer.

Went in to get my car inspected and an oil change dealt with Andre the whole time. When he began explaining what needed to get fixed and what I need to be aware of in the future I asked him how much money would it cost me to fix the things I selected where he told me a number. I agree to that number and for the work to be done. Little did I know Andre didn't tell me that was number out of pocket today if I financed. The finalized invoice ended up being 3k more than I originally anticipated. Now unfortunately there isn't much I can do at this point besides him an earful and write this to hope somebody else doesn't make the same mistake as all the work is already done. Andre, though he seemed very helpful, knew exactly what he was doing to fleece me. Don't know if this is what Midas as a company tries to do in general to their customers or just this one in Roxborough but its a disappointing business and ill recommend to stay far far away from this place and Andre.Update: Andre ended up apologizing after knowing what he did was wrong and offered me a $200 visa gift card which i know couldn’t have been a midas protocol and i could be wrong but i suspect that’s coming out of his own pocket to just push all this under the rug. He then calls me today 2/5/24 with a whole different attitude and revokes that offer after reading my review which is fair but it’s not about the money at this point. all reviews on this place point to this place being shady and i wish i read them before taking my car in.

I wish there is an option for minus star, and I wish I had read the reviews before I went there.I dropped my car there for inspection, and they called me, the windshield wiper needs to be replaced, and the car needs to be aligned. l approved on the phone for those two things, but later on when I went to pick up the car, they billed me for additional rotter and break replacement, in total1075$.I asked can I have the old parts back, they told me they throw them away.I said how come every customer got break replaced. He got pissed and started personal insult. And he went back to the garage and brought back whatever two brakes which I don't know if they are mine or not. And I said, did you just claim you throw them away? How conveniently you find them now. They have lies after lies. I am wondering why the head quarter doesn't do anything to these guys. It is bad for your company reputation. Not just post some links to the website.

My husband took my car in for a routine yearly inspection. They called saying that we needed a new tire and coil for the spark plug. We were quoted about $600. After they finished everything and we went to pick it up, they said our total is $1300. Without our knowledge or consent, they replaced all the spark plugs and did an alignment. They more than doubled what we expected to pay without letting us know until after everything was done. They also tried to convince us that the price was fine because they could give us a coupon. The coupon was for $20 and we had to fill out a 5 star review to get the coupon. Save yourself the trouble and don't go to this place.
