Spent the entire day including going on the free Building Tour that taught about the architecture and history of the build, and it's recent construction and future. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend. Also plenty of space to rest as you move through the galleries. I'll be back again soon.

Great place to sip a drink and enjoy the art. You can spend hours and hours here. This is an amazing place to visit In Philly if you are interested in art and history. They have an impressive collection of arts and artifacts from different countries and time in history. Remarkably well preserved paintings, rooms to show lifestyle, and cultural artifacts: engraved rugs, and sculptures. There was live music, you can get some light snacks or drink. They also have cafe and gift stores. They do have parking lot for visitors. I recommend buying tickets online, on first Friday of the month I think you can visit it at little cheaper than regular days.

I took my husband on a date at the Museum of Art on Friday night and we had a great time. On Friday, between 5pm and 8:45pm, the admission is free (donations are welcome). The atmosphere was perfect: a live band was playing jazz music and we grabbed a drink by the steps. The museum has a huge variety of paintings and pieces of art. Artists like Picasso, Duchamp, Matisse, Renoir, Man Ray, Monet, Manet mostly find a spot on the first floor. But don’t be shy, ask the staff about specific painting and they’ll be happy to help you navigate the museum’s map.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Museum. We went on the first Sunday of the month and it is Pay What you Wish Day!I have been here twice in the last year and a half and still have a whole bunch to explore. The Art inside covers almost every genre and the grounds outside are just as beautiful. If you are visiting Philadelphia and want to be a patron of the arts the Museum is a must visit. It is both adult and kid friendly and there is maps at every entrance to help you navigate. The staff are all friendly, but just make sure you do not have any prohibited items before entering (backpacks, selfie sticks, etc)

This museum has a little bit of everything and it's the best one we went to in Philly. I would highly recommend going on the highlight tour. You can learn so many things about the museum that you may miss on your own and it's nice to be able to ask an expert questions. The tours are included with your entrance fee and you need to buy a ticket in advance.

Great spot in downtown Philadelphia that is a must visit as a great public space. The steps are obviously iconic from the movie Rocky and that’s why most people come here. As well as to see the statue of Rocky off to the right hand side of the museum steps. Be prepared to wait in line to get your photo taken with the statue. We did not go into the museum itself so I cannot speak to that, but you’ve got to go here just to walk those steps (or run) and just see the great view from the museum down towards City Hall. Inside tip: if you want to get a little more walking in, the museum is very near the Schuylkill river trail.

This is one of the best museums on the east coast. The parking garage has a 7ft clear height. We visited the museum after a weekend trip to Atlantic City and we still had our SUP board (with a back fin) loaded on the top of the truck when we entered the garage. Long story short, we had to take off the fin, and lower the suspension of the truck to be able to get in.

Full disclosure - I'm don't seek out art museums as a fun activity I'd spend money on, but I happened to be with friends who really wanted to go. We went on a Friday evening during the "pay your own price for admission" period. I think this is an excellent deal, especially for someone like me who had minimal interest in going, especially for the steep general admission price. As for the museum itself, it was huge with lots of art of different media, artists, and time periods. Even though it was crowded, it didn't feel that bad and I could have some quiet time to appreciate the art. I also liked how the rooms kept changing in size and layout, making me excited to see what was coming next. One criticism I have is that I would've loved to see more art from women and from people of color. I'll admit that I didn't see the entire museum (pro tip- don't adventure through an art museum in heels if you're not used to wearing them!) and didn't read and look up every single description for every piece, but it seemed that most of what I saw was made by white men. Overall, I'm still not an art museum person and probably wouldn't come back here unless I had to, but I enjoyed the time I spent here more than I was expecting!

Great works of art. Perfect place for pictures, the tradition is to climb up the steps while running and when you reach the top stand where Rocky stood lift your arms and say yeah .

Came here on a Monday afternoon two weeks ago. The woman at the front desk greeted me and helped me scan my online tickets and proceeded to enter through a long hallway inside the Museum. Looking around there were a lot of security guards and cameras at ever corner of the building, which is understandable due to the high valuable items; I felt really safe in there. Every item in the gallery had been treated with care and have a lot of information about what the piece of art originated from, what year and the creator as well. Highly recommend looking at the knights and Aron or section, it never fails to disappoint!

A world class art museum, and easily one of the best museums outside of NYC or DC. A large variety of exhibits and an all day experience. The best approach is to make multiple trips and divide them among sections to avoid burnout. The exhibits on display are captivating, with a range that extends across BCE art. I particularly enjoyed the wing dedicated to Asian art and European classics. My son was mesmerized by the Medieval artifacts collection. The cafe also has a surprising number of tasty options are quite satisfying after hours of walking around. The servings on some of the items are large enough to split, so be careful about over-ordering. This museum is easily my favorite in Philly and one of my two favorites in the commonwealth.

I have been here so many times for school I could give you a grand tour of the amazing art here. I love the collection and how it is organized with information and every so often new artists have their works up or they put up old works for periods of time but most of the time the works stay up for a few months. Some works are permanently up on the walls which is cool and you can see various famous artists works. The museum also does a beautiful job of decoration when the seasons change for the holidays. Sundays are free admission when you pay a donation of your choice. Students when they bring IDs on other days get discounts.

Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of my favorite attractive places to go with the family. I'd take the kids to check out some rooms there and the history, I like that they have a cafe area in the ground level area. You can eat and drink whatever you like there. You can take pictures there as you wish. Also, I wish they open until 7 pm because 5 is early to be closed. I don't think I've any cons to mention. I highly recommend for family trips.
