Isaiah Zagar's masterpiece is the first place that I recommend visiting in Philadelphia!A labyrinth of colorful mosaic work that is truly inspiring and enjoyable at any age. There is always something new to discover both outdoors and indoors in the galleries that host international rotating exhibitions.

It's fun. I do love weird art. And this is very much in line with what you'd expect from the era. Lots of Dada influences here. Much of the art is storytelling of Isaiah's life, so while there were collaborative elements, there was a primary artist while style dominates.Kids: Better for my 6-yo than my 2-yo, although both were surprisingly good about not touching. Scavenger Hunt maps made it especially entertaining. The steps are steep in the outdoor portion, so better for established walkers.Content warning: On the subject of nudity, more conservative patrons may find the volume of nude imagery off-putting.

Anyone who doesn't enjoy this is a Philistine and you should not go on another date with them, Julie.A world of the tiniest joys all layered upon one another for you, the observer, to discover for yourself. It evokes the lost joy of the playground but the rewards are more subtle and lovely than any space I was blessed with in elementary school.Get lost in the microcosms. Revel in the pervasive technique. Ruminate on the truisms and wandering mind of poetry on display.

The entry fee is WORTH IT. I was expecting to be disappointed with this spot because of the fee, but when I tell you, I was stunned! It was freezing while we were there, so I imagine coming here during the summer or early fall. A breeze and the sun hitting you while standing in the maze of this art installation??? That would be it. I could die happy.

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is a unique and colorful art installation that covers three city lots on South Street in Philadelphia. It was created by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, who used tiles, mirrors, glass, ceramics, and other materials to transform the space into a whimsical wonderland. The Magic Gardens features indoor galleries and an outdoor labyrinth, where visitors can explore Zagar’s artistic vision and his public murals. Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is a non-profit organization that preserves, interprets, and provides access to this folk art environment, as well as hosting exhibitions and events for the community

This was hands down the most magical experience during our trip to the City of Love! You will come out of this place with complete feelings of joy! I felt like a child in an art playground! Please...please...please ask for the scavenger hunt that they offer for both inside and outside garden! This may be difficult for someone that is wheelchair bound. Don't miss this magical experience that is great for the family of all ages! Most beautiful ART ? ✨️ ?

A fantastic way to spend an afternoon on south street. Art from New and emerging artists for sale and on exhibit. And floor to ceiling mosaic art inside and outside. It's like an interactive art gallery as you walk through the space. Wheel chair guests may find it difficult to navigate on some of the outside portion. We had a great time and glad to have decided spur of the moment to visit. We bought tickets in advance but others were buying them at the door.

Unique and fun spot to visit and see mosaic style art. It's small but you can spend about an hour here. Some good photo opportunities too.
