Great workout and all of the staff/trainers are incredibly knowledgable and kind. They adjust you as needed and shout you out when you're doing something well. A little expensive, but worth it if you're looking for a low impact workout with great results.

Customer service with this location is a nightmare. I cancelled my on demand membership and the studio has ignored multiple phone calls and emails and continues to charge me for the past 3+ months. They are even spamming me from the same email with Black Friday deals. Unreal.

Pure Barre Philly is the only company I've encountered that has not provided customers with options during coronavirus. I've contacted them multiple times to see if monthly memberships could be frozen or partially refunded and they won't even respond. This is very concerning and encouraging people to go to classes even when sick (so they won't lose money). It is completely irresponsible for a business to not provide communications and options for their customers during this time. The "extra wipe downs" at the studios isn't even close to being enough - The country is in a national emergency.

Very expensive and the studio vibe is pretentious. There are regulars who love it but I just don't get it.

I haven't even gotten to take a class here but please use my experience as a cautionary tale if you're shopping for a new barre class. I was gifted a 10 class pack and given just over six weeks to use it. That in and of itself is not a big deal, a bit of a tight timeline but doable, it's class availability that's the issue. Unlike two other nearby Barre studios, Pure Barre doesn't have a shower. So that immediately takes any morning/lunchtime classes right off the table. (A top knot & body wipes can only do so much...) That leaves three evening class options. (But really just one because I'd have to leave work early to make the 5 pm or stay at work for an extra hour to make the 7 pm. I am the Goldilocks of barre classes.) But the classes fill up so quickly that the one that makes any sense for my schedule is full almost immediately after being made available. (Clearly I'm not the only Goldilocks.) I'd have to stalk their MindBody app to sign up for classes two weeks in advance that I'm not even sure I'd be able to take. (Take note Pure Barre - the nearby studios also offer better times/options for their evening classes.) When I emailed to redeem my gift pack I received a very quick response and the person I emailed with was very nice, and I'm sure they're very good classes, but I'm bummed because I'll likely end up having to waste most of this gift due to logistics. Maybe this location would work if you have a super flexible/non-corporate job or live close to the studio and can pop home to shower. Or you don't sweat as much as I do.

I have tried all sorts of fitness classes (kickboxing, orange theory, soul cycle,...) but I always ended up switching to something else because none of them made me motivated enough to commit. This time, Pure Barre is a different story. I finally found something that does make a change to my body and makes me feel like waking up at 5:30AM every morning and having something to look forward to everyday. Shout out to all of my instructors and the staff who have made the experience even better. Although it is not a cheap commitment, I think it's worth every penny and I am a fan now. I cannot wait for the one in Washington Square to open because everyone in my office (our office is at Washington Square, too) has been hearing me raved about this and they cannot wait to try.

I have taken many barre classes and Pure Barre is just plain poor quality. Yes, there are some regulars who seem to love it, but I would encourage them to try other studios. Reason #1: There is CARPET on the floor where you work out...so disgusting and unclean! Reason #2: Very little personal attention or form corrections from the instructor. Reason #3: Classes are large and feel extremely packed in and crowded (hard to have enough space to do the moves). Reason #4: Didn't feel like a great workout compared to other barre classes; I didn't even feel sore. Reason #5: The vibe just feels contrived, impersonal, and tired, like the instructor is reading from a script. All in all, it's DEFINITELY not worth the hype or the expense. Please do yourself a favor and go local instead of patronizing this lackluster chain.

Pure Barre is a great workout! The Studio is conveniently located and spotlessly clean. The best part about Pure Barre is the staff. The young women who run the classes are so good at what they do - not just giving the class instructions from one exercise to the next, they are truly Motivators! These are not the easiest of classes, but if they were easy then it wouldn't be exercise. The instructors constant motivation is key to getting through. The enthusiastic yet calm, supportive, non-judgmental instructors, make a point of getting to know the class participants' names and level of fitness. They offer personalized corrections and modifications when necessary. There are classes all day, so if you can fit these classes into your schedule and budget, it is really worth it.

Have been going for close to three years - don't have a single complaint. Great workout and excellent teachers. Workout is definitely challenging (even after three years) but not so challenging that you won't get the hang of it. Definitely recommend. Results are 👠.
