I've been banking with Republic Bank for at least 10+ years. Everything was great up until about the last two years. The staff in the branches are always warm and welcoming, however, something has drastically changed with this company. My pending transactions take longer than normal to post, my account balance was always inaccurate. Whether it's my fault or not for relying on my mobile banking app to keep track of my account balance, this caused me fear of even spending any of my money and having any autopays set up anymore. I dealt with this constant frustration and the NSF fees for far too long -- 3 years ago, I was proud to say NSF fees were a next-to-never occurrence for me.Last month, I needed my rent payment stopped because I accidentally paid twice and wouldn't have had the funds for both payments to go through, so I inquired about how to go about having a stop payment made. Firstly, the way it was explained to me made it seem like the payment wouldn't be stopped until I paid the fee, but the representative over the phone stopped the payment -- I just had 14-days to pay the fee or else they would cancel my request. This misunderstanding wasn't a huge deal. What drew the line in the sand, was when I was not FULLY informed on how stop payments work. I was NEVER informed that a stop payment lasts forever until I ask to reverse it. My rent payment for this month was stopped when I did NOT want it to be and now I am having serious issues with my apartment complex.I ended my relationship with Republic Bank, today.

If I could do a negative review I would. I’d put -3 starsWhat a disgrace of a company . Time to move in. They have had their chances to fix their rudeness, bad banking and obsolete technology , too many for sure !

I created a Republic Bank account in mid 2019. In early 2020 money disappeared from my account (fraud) despite my never using the card anywhere but in ATMs. Republic Bank returned the money but did not explain how it happened.Near the end of 2020 it happened again. Not only did they again not explain how money had disappeared from my account, they made it difficult for me to receive a new debit card by not letting me update my address (although they could discuss everything else about my account). The employees were extremely unhelpful and dismissive in their attitude.A short time later I mailed a check to Republic Bank which never appeared in my account. The employee of Republic Bank claimed that the Post Office must have lost it (which is of course possible, but unlikely). I had to ask the payer to write a new check. Then after a further three months, suddenly the check which I had earlier mailed to Republic Bank was deposited in my account. The Republic Bank employee (the same as before) now claimed that the Post Office must have delivered my letter three months late(!) As a result, I had to then return to the payer and refund him the cost of the second check.Obviously I quickly found a new bank. Republic Bank may be a "small local bank" but it is staffed entirely by local people in Philadelphia, including in the main offices. Take of that what you will.

If anyone had to speak to the vice president of customer service then you know what it’s like to speak to a rude and rage filled barbarian. I challenge the board members and CEO to call as a customer and they will recommend this man to any maximum security prison as their man jailer. How is it that there’s any probability that they are unaware that he sounds rage filledHe’s a nasty rude bully. I would never work in an environment with Kenny or Kelly if I knew he has access to firearmsTrust me this is understated

Republic Bank just initiated a website update for banking access and mobile banking. This has been an utter disaster! As of this moment I cannot access my account balance, Mobile Banking, text banking, and see what transactions have posted. Customer service line gets no answer, and then disconnects on a timeout. Calling the branch has been useless, the agents have no clue how to address the customers. I have been a satisfied customer for more than 7 years, but if they cannot execute a data update properly I will consider changing Banks.

The worst customer service I’ve consistently experienced from a bank. Rude, unprofessional, not to mention openly bigoted. Glad to be rid of these odious people after realizing what they are.

Their service is so friendly. To fully describe the staff and experience, I find it more satisfactory to my standards. Knock on wood they do have the right customer service. It's how they roll. To explain why, it's how they do it and how they satisfy more and more customers.

I've been with Republic for 5 years and haven't had not one problem. However there was a small problem with their phone system when the pandemic hit which even though I was a bit irritated I realized that it was one of those issues where no one was at fault. I tried to use their phone system to check my deposit and balances but because of the high number of old and new customers using the phone system because of the pandemic the system was overwhelmed. Still today ( November) no problem.

I opened an account in September 2020. First, The person that opened my account did not give me any details about the checking account. He printed my debit card and that was that. The process took literally 5 minutes. He handed me a debit card and said have a good day. (Location is Sicklerville, NJ)2nd I went back to work in this Pandemic. I’ve been back working full time 6 days a week overnight for 3 weeks now, My wife is currently in school full time and my 3 children are doing school from home due to the pandemic. I finally got my first paycheck, I set up direct deposit but some jobs you get your first check as a paper check. So I went to my brand new bank to deposit my first check. (Location Washington Township, New Jersey) I was excited to be apart of the new family even though it did not start out well. I deposited my check, I went home and went to bed to get ready for work that night. Usually banks give your hard working money rite away or it takes 1-2 business days. Which is perfectly fine. I called them to see when it would clear. They told me my deposit would clear in 5 business days. I got paid on a Friday, i worked three weeks with no money to my name, Barely any gas to get to work. Now I have to wait a whole week for the check to get cleared. So I’m going to be at work a whole month without any pay because of this bank. When my deposit clears I will be closing my account as fast as the person opened it for me.They told me they can reverse my deposit and I can come get the cash. Then they said they couldn’t reverse it! The only thing great about this bank is there buildings. That’s what attracts people.*Warning**Warning *If your reading this it’s not to late!!!Stay away from My Republic Bank!Have a wonder rest of your morning, afternoon, and evening!
