The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia, located in South Philadelphia just steps from the Broad Street Line and in sight of City Hall, serves the nation by upholding the values of their beloved Saint Rita of Cascia: peacemaking, healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The shrine is open daily from 9:00 am, and visitors can sense the sacredness upon entering the lower church. It is known for answering "impossible prayers," and visitors are encouraged to bring their prayers and petitions. The shrine offers daily Masses, Novenas to Our Mother of Good Counsel and Saint Rita, and confessionals during the day. The on-site gift shop is staffed by a friendly and knowledgeable young man named Michael, who is always ready to assist visitors. The shrine is described as "amazing" and "more beautiful than ever," with the upstairs church being particularly stunning. It is a popular destination for weddings, with the staff ensuring a smooth and seamless experience. The shrine is also handicap accessible, with an elevator in the back. Many families have cherished memories of the shrine, from baptisms to funerals, and appreciate its diverse religious symbols and atmosphere.
