I just love this little grocery store so much!!! I live around the corner and go way too often and I’m not even mad about it. They have a great local and reasonably priced selection, are so nice, do great community work, and not to mention have incredible made to order food on certain days, including bagels on Saturday!!!

Great variety of fresh produce and a well-curated selection of dry goods and prepared foods. Prices seem fair. Clean, well organized, and pleasant service. Excellent resource for the neighborhood!

Having Rowhouse in the neighborhood is awesome! Besides selling your everyday groceries, they also make sandwiches, soups, tamales, pastries and other delicious goodies. Their tamales are soo good!

Rowhouse grocery partners with local farms run by adults with disabilities as well as self employed local artists who have barriers to employment. This partnership allows these adults to supplement their income. They do this without taking a commission. One of the owners used to be a buyer for Dibruno bros so the classic grocery items are really well curated. Instead of discarding local produce when it loses it's turgor, another one of the owners turns them into delicious sandwiches and salads packaged to go in their on-site kitchen. This is where the (often vegan) baking takes place as well. They have a community room upstairs where they allow us to work with adults with disabilities in need of skills to list on their resumes and this has resulted in employment for many of them. Rowhouse is safe for the immunocompromised adults they help to support by requiring masks and keeping the store immaculate. I often run into friends in there so it is a good spot just to stop and get coffee if you're bored! Local flowers from Cultivate farm.

We love shopping at Rowhouse! We were so excited when they agreed to provide appetizers at our wedding. They delivered 15 trays of fresh crudites, delicious dips, crackers and house-made focaccia. Guests raved about these, and several people followed up days later to ask where they can get more. Check out Rowhouse Grocery in South Philly on 17th and McKean the next chance you get!

I am so thankful for this little local grocery store! Such a great addition to the area and they have been a godsend during pandemic times.Even though they are small, they are mighty. They always seem to have exactly what I need in stock and more than I'm expecting. A great selection of local produce, great to-go items like sandwiches, soups, and salads. They also usually have house-made pizza dough, mozzarella cheese and ricotta. AND they have hot & iced coffee PLUS delicious little to-go treats that rotate on a daily/weekly basis.

Have you ever walked into the Acme or Shoprite in South Philly? You know how half the people wear their masks over their chins instead of noses, the produce is all old and gross, and the people are ugly and kinda d**** Yeah, me too. That's why I go to Rowhouse. Rowhouse has been following strict covid regulations and provided guests with gloves. You can actually shop there without some hoagie-mouth mummer ranting about Dr. Fauci and his freedumbs while a soiled disposable mask hangs impotently from one ear. And the food...Rowhouse has absolutely the best produce this side of the Italian Market. I usually have the prepared food about once a week for lunch. Follow them on Instagram for daily menus. Finally, the people who run Rowhouse are exactly the kind of people you would want to support and see do well. They're currently working with local groups like Homies Helping Homies and provide gallery space for artists with developmental disabilities through a partnership with RHD. I adore Rowhouse Grocery and the people who run it.
