Larry and his cat Lester were my favorite part of living in University city. I spent a lot of afternoons there looking through the shelves after class and when I moved away, I missed this spot the most.

I recommend anyone that visits Philadelphia to come to this bookstore. I walked in randomly with my Girlfriend and was just planning to take a look. Around 10 minutes in, I was in the psychology section picking out the book I wanted to read. I absolutely love the environment. We also met a very sociable cat named Millie :->

Lovely place! Books of all sorts & even antique books. Reasonable prices. There's even a bookstore cat (Millie), & the person working the counter said we could stay as long as we needed even though we got there towards closing time. He was so nice & a humble guy. I bought two books, one from the 1800s. Great place!

I spent many happy days during grad school here and recently returned 20 years later to find it's just as wonderful as ever. Scored a big eclectic stack of great reads after browsing the many aisles and petting the house cat. I was only sad to miss Larry!
