I had a horrible experience with the gentleman who attended me. I looked for some guidance on the tools I needed for my project. Instead I got anger and a terrible customer service.

Very friendly, helpful customer service. There’s a little bit of everything here with good, competitive prices. Prices are about equal to big online retailers, with the bonus of supporting local business! So thankful to have a place like this so close to my home.

can't speak to anything else, but i had a great experience with the locksmith service. i didn't have a key for my back security door, and only had one key for the front security door. the locksmith showed me step-by-step how to remove the cylinders so i could bring them in to be re-keyed to match each other. very helpful and reasonably priced compared to buying new locks or new doors.

I much prefer small local hardware stores to big box stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot. They were super willing to help me figure out what size washer I needed for a broken carafe, and usually have firewood and other essentials for camping and summer fun. Def check with them before going elsewhere.

These guys are their own worst enemy and not easy to talk to which is not ideal for a hardware store. And they foolishly lost my business over a few dollars, since I wanted to return an item that I did not know was unreturnable. Maybe I should have known that but the way they handled the situation was very passive aggressive and when I tried it to make a reasonable proposal one of the “owners” threw a tantrum like a toddler. Completely unprofessional, no idea how they’re still in business.

I’ve been stopping by this hardware store for 12 years now, usually in a pinch to get a part on the fly while making a repair. Very helpful staff that can guide you in the right direction. A large collection of items to make a a quick repair or Macgyver something along in these old West Philadelphia row homes. They are quick and good at making keys, have a selection of locks for narrow doors and other hardware specific to the Philly area. Today’s visit was for a plumbing repair. They explained the options and even offered to let me try out a part and return it if it did not work out for my repair. These neighborhood hardware stores are always handy when in a pinch and you’d rather get the job done vs spending hours hunting around a massive box store.

Poor selection, high prices, and run by people who are actively antagonistic to the local community. When I went in recently the shop owner was loudly complaining about the new parking-protected bike lane outside the store, claiming that since people could no longer double-park and block the bike lane, it was killing his business.I talked with him a bit on how the bike lane was making the street safer, resulting in fewer injuries and fatalities for pedestrians and cyclists, but he only seemed concerned with making more money for himself.
