Thankful this location was open on a Saturday past noon. The clerk was pleasant in spite of the impatient customers that came in while I was there. This office is very close to my new residence. Thank you to the staff for being there

The clerk stepped away, with no word to the people waiting. There were 10 of us in line, for at least 15-20 minutes before she returned. When she returned, she said nothing. No apology, or explanation whatsoever. This is the worst post office I’ve ever been to. Not sure if it’s the staff, lack of staff, or what. I wish there was another one in my area. I wish I could leave a 0 star review!

I've visited this post office only a few times. The staff that I interacted with on those occasions were helpful. However, the delivery of mail and/or packages is inconsistent. Letter mail delivery is ok depending on the carrier. Packages show out delivery but won't be delivered and there's no follow up the next day. What's really frustrating is if you have more than one package to be delivered on the same day. One package gets delivered and the other one won't be delivered. It seems as if the two or three carriers delivering packages to the same address. Next, of course, I have to file a missing mail search on the USPS website. This post office site needs better management.

Always poor counter staff with low level social skills and care-less attitude to customers.

Unfortunately, I contact this office before closing hours. No one answered the phone. So, I will spare everyone my complaing going on and on. What I will say is that this location needs to level up with being professional. This office isn't professional.

Worst post office in the neighborhood. They close whatever time they want and open whenever.

I was there (6711 Germantown Ave. office) on a Wednesday morning at opening time (10 AM). There was parking available behind the building. The office opened on time, with clerks available at two windows. The place is clean and reasonably spacious. I filled out my certified mail forms at the center island, waited a minute or two for the customer ahead of me to be served, and was greeted cheerfully by the clerk. Got my business done. (Note: I had brought my own pen, and forgot to note whether they had pens available.)
USPS offices seem to get reviews in two extremes. My impression is that the very negative reviews tend to be from folks with a chip on their shoulder, and sometimes with a prejudice against the USPS or people of color, as evidenced by the text of their reviews. No doubt an occasional complaint is justified, but I doubt the average number of stars is a good indicator of quality of service.
I think one thing that helps customers have a good experience is to familiarize themselves in advance with the available services and procedures, though I realize folks don't always have time to do that.

They lost my package and nobody answered me!
They supposedly left the package in the package room of my building and there was never anything there, it's been 5 days and no one gives me any response.

Don't waste your time coming here. The employees always upset that they have to do a job, despite getting paid to to it and applying for the job out of there own free will - knowing the required duties. They just want to sit around and talk and listen to music while doing literally nothing, as if we haven't all graduated high school over 25 years ago.
They take random hours long breaks throughtout the day, every single day now (somehow the higher-ups don't know about this??). Instead of just quitting to go work a job they don't hate with a passion, they're going to continue to hold up the positions at this location, that COULD be filled by people who don't actual mind going to work as a functioning adult like the rest of us.
Because of this, there are literally no P.O. locations within a 5 mile radius that aren't terrible, and actual operate the way were intended to. I have no idea where I can mail my packages out of now. I already had to stop going to the closer post office on Crittenden, because my packages kept going "missing" there (once 2 times in ONE week!) every time I had to mail multiple packages out of that location. You're not supposed to ship things out from a zip code you don't live in or near, but at this point I literally have no other option. There isn't a single post office in or around Mt. Airy that hasn't been ruined by lazy "workers" (hint: they refuse to do any such thing), or workers who have sticky fingers and want free gifts.
Everyone wants money but suddenly thinks they shouldn't have to work for it anymore. Entitled doesn't even begin to cover it at this point. I shouldn't have to drive out to Plymouth Mtg just to go to the dmn post office, but that's probably the next closest place where the residents/employees/businesses are normal respectable people who don't have some weird chip on their shoulder.
tl;dr AVOID THIS POST OFFICE. 0 stars!!
And if someone can figure out how to report them for refusing to service people during the SET business hours DAILY for 2-3 hrs at a time, please do so!

Easily and by far the worst post office in Philadelphia. They have earn and deserved that bage of shame...... they consistently closed the entire store, claiming the system is down. Now, I have paid for a PO Box at this location. If the system is down why is there no access to the PO Box? You don't need a system up and running for me to collect my mail.I deserve to be partially refunded due to limited access to my PO Box during what should be operational hours.I won't say every worker at this particular post office needs to be let go, though most, not all, have the most vile attitudes, but someone in management and/or general management needs to be retrained or let go.Cleary, this location is taking advantage of the public. Today is Saturday, December 30th and clearly, the branch decided they should get a 3 day weekend for diligence in getting out of work.
